Our new apartment is on the first floor and the interior design combines the traditional and local character. It is furnished in a contemporary style to a luxurious standard. There are two double bedrooms with king size beds, one bathroom, a bespoke handmade kitchen finished with Italian granite surfaces. The adjoining dining and lounge areas offer stunning unhindered views both across and up the lake. For your enjoyment, there is a 32 inch flat screen TV DVD Sky WiFi. Private garage within the Residence and access to the Residence and garage is via secure automated gate as well as a lift to your apartment which means the home is suitable for all age groups. There are just a few steps down to the communal garden area for alfresco dining or dine inside on the luxury dining table. With the well stocked fitted kitchen, cooking here is a real chef's delight! Secure parking included at the residence.

Accessibility
The apartment is suitable for the elderly and slightly infirm as there is an elevator from the car park to the apartment level. Another elevator takes you to the apartment door. There are just 30 paces to be walked between lifts.
Outside
Communal garden area accessible from the apartment via lift and steps. Just seconds from the apartment door. Whilst this large garden is 'officially' a communal area, in 3 years of letting the home both us and all our guests have yet to encounter any other visitors using the area as they are out exploring the many beautiful sites around the lake. Picnic hamper provided for your use on days out. Private garage here at the gated residence with private parking for your vehicle at no extra cost. The property is located just 50 metres from the lake edge with only the lower residential road (see picture) separating the residence and the apartment from the lake. Laglio is one of the 3 hamlets on the the 'golden mile' -they are not bothered by commuter traffic as this is carried via an upper main road higher in the hills. These hamlets are bypassed by the upper road therefore traffic is local and minimal.
Coast/Beach
The small village of Laglio is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places on Lake Como. Situated on the western shore, it has the typical atmosphere of an old hamlet, with pedestrian narrow lanes. Its location close to the small village square makes the village an ideal starting point for bike rides, boat trips and walks. We would like to point out that Laglio was here a long time before a certain Mr Clooney purchased a neighbouring property here in Laglio in 2002!
Golf
The Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Club (only 20 mins away by car), is the second oldest Golf Club in Italy and represents British tradition at its best. Overlooking Lake Como, it is a course combining old-world values with a heritage of golfing culture. The elevated position of the course provides splendid views in all directions. Players can catch glimpses of the lakes and in the distance, the central Alps. At the traffic lights in Menaggio, bear left towards Porlezza/Lugano and continue for 4 km until you come to a sign on your left, indicating the Golf Club. If you would like to play at the Club; Mid-week daily Green Fee EU 55, weekends and bank holidays green fee 70 euros. x10 green fees (Mon - Fri) EU 450, x10 green fees (weekend's and bank holidays) EU 550, daily buggy hire EU 36, daily club hire EU 15.
Skiing
The apartment is convenient for the ski resorts of Madesimo, St. Moritz, Livigno and Bormio all of which are in the Italian or Swiss Alps, a 1¾ hours to 2½ hours drive away.

Travel
Full directions given with each booking and on request. Fly via Milan Malpensa, Linate (45 to 50 minutes) or Bergamo (75 minutes). Car hire recommended to help you get the most from your stay. Bus (1 min walk), ferry (15 mins) approx.
Distances
Small public beach in Laglio where you can soak up the sun plus further beaches are 2.5km away. There is also a bus stop just outside the Residence gate with bus service. Local villages inc. Carate Urio 2km with boat stop for all areas of the lake, Moltrasio 7km Cernobbio 9km, Como 15km, Menaggio 35km.
The gates to Regina Residence are literally only a few paces from the lake with only the residential lake road separating you and the residence from the lake! (see photograph).
Further details
There is a bar at the lake edge just outside the gates, and a local butcher, mini market and post office all within 2 to 5 minutes walk. There are three local restaurants and a large supermarket and shopping mall on the outskirts of Como, just 15 minutes drive away. Milan is half an hour away by train.
