The 2 double bedroom apartment is one of four in a old country house that has recently been renovated. The traditional features and character of the old house have been maintained throughout, including the stone staircase, wood beamed ceilings, tiled floors and exposed brickwork. The apartment also offers all the modern comforts to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The country house is located on a pretty farm growing olives and peaches and offers a real countryside retreat. The closest village with all the amenities you will need, is just 4km away.

Notes on prices
For shorter stays, the daily rate for week days is 25 euros per person in low season and 30 euros per person in mid and high seasons.
For Christmas, Easter and National Holidays, please enquiry for prices.
Discounts are offered for longer term lets and rental of the whole house (all 4 apartments).
The apartment can sleep a further 2 people on a sofa bed.

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible, although Saturday to Saturday bookings are preferred during the high season.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is light and airy and is kept cool in the summer and warm in the winter by the original thick walls. There is also central heating.
The property has wooded beams and part exposed brickwork throughout and is tastefully decorated to a high standard, offering furniture that is in keeping with the old age of the building.

Outside
There is a lovely terrace area with outdoor furniture that overlooks the hills of the Mugello Valley and the surrounding fruit and olive trees.

Coast/Beach
The west coast beaches can be reached within 2 hours.

Golf
The UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Glub is situated in the Mugello Valley, Tuscany which is 30km north east of Florence. The Club offers a superb 18 holes par 73 golf course and was designed by professional player Baldovino Dassù and Italian architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti, constructed to USGA standards.
The course is 6.397 meters long, 5.091 from the Ladies Tees, and 6.519 meters from the Championship Tees. The course, that was used for the Ladies Italian Open from 1999-2003, has four different playing routes within the 18 holes. There is a driving range, complete with shaded driving bay and putting and pitching greens and a PGA Academy Professional offers private lessons.
The course is open all year round, 7 days a week and Golf carts are available for rent.

Special interest holidays
Both painting and cookery courses and/or holidays can be held at the villa, along with wine tasting evenings.

Travel
There is a choice of airports; Florence is a 40 minute drive to the villa, Bologna G.Marconi 1 hour 20 minutes, Pisa 1 hour 40 minutes and Forli 2 hours. It is necessary to hire a car, and there are a number of car hire companies at the airports.

Vicchio 4km, Borgo San Lorenzo 8km, Scarperia 17km Barberino Di Mugello 25km, Florence 45km, Pisa 120km, Siena 95km, Bologna 80km.

Further details
The Mugello Valley is as yet undiscovered by many but still offers the beautiful scenery and charm of Tuscany. It is a perfect location for exploring Tuscany and beyond and with the wide range of activities in the area there is something to offer to everyone who visits. A 35 minute drive through the hillside will take you to Florence, with Pisa being just 110 km away and Siena 95km, and you can be in Rome within one and a half hours by train from Florence.
The nearby towns of Scarperia (famous for its production of knives), Vicchio, Borgo San Lorenzo and Barberino di Mugello offer a calender of events throughout the year, including flower shows, antique fairs, gastronomic festivals and open air concerts, and they also have the wonderful cuisine that we have all come to expect of the beautiful region of Tuscany.
There is a wide range of activities to do in the area. It is close to Lake Bilancino where you can canoe, sail, windsurf and fish. Other activities include trekking, mountain biking, wine tasting, guided tours to towns and house riding.
A 15 minute drive takes you to the Mugello Autodrome for the Superbikes race events and Ferrari test drives or you can play golf at the nearby Poggio dei Medici golf club. It is also close to the new Barberino Designer Outlet store.

Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total price is required when booking. The remaining 70% payable no later than 8 weeks before the arrival date. 150 euros refundable security deposit is payable on arrival.
In the event of the guest cancelling the following cancellation policy applies: more than 8 weeks before arrival date 30% of the total cost will be retained by the owner, 6-8 weeks 75%,
6 weeks or less 100%, no show 100%. Cancellations must be made in writing.
