Tripala farm is a countryside oasis, ideal for family holidays. You can relax by the swimming pool, sunbathe on the terrace or go mountain biking or walking in the spectacular Apuan Alps. Situated in Garfagnana, the farm is an ideal base if you want to visit the historic towns of Tuscany, including Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The coast is only a short journey by car or train so you can explore the beautiful fishing villages of the Cinque Terre and swim in the azure waters. In the nearby medieval villages there are several pizzerias and restaurants serving tasty local cuisine and wines made from grapes ripened on the nearby hillsides. The owners, Carlo and Silvia, speak English and are always on hand to help if you need any advice

Apartments La Piana West, East and Terrace, from 20/08 to 17/12/ 2011, from 07/01/2012 to 30/06/2012 and from 18/08 to 22/12/2012 are available for two persons at 300.00 euro a week. Notes on accommodation
All apartments kitchens have dishwasher, microwave owen, electric hob, Wifi internet connection, satellite TV. Bed and bath linen are included. All our guests can use our large swimming pool and play area for children. The gardens are covered by connection WiFi. Final cleaning: 50 euro. Washing machine: 4 euros each washing. The swimming pool is open from 22nd May to 18th September.

Accessibility
The apartment "La Piana Est" has a double bedroom with a large bathroom for disabled people. This has its own approach slope via the side garden and is designed to accomodate a wheelchair. You can sit outside and enjoy your meals whilst admiring the fantastic scenery. There is also a large patio.

Outside
The swimming pool is shared and the size is 15m x 6m. Carlo and Silvia farm organically, producing olives, farro grain, chestnuts and vegetables in their kitchen garden. The surrounding gardens are particularly beautiful in spring and early summer, with colour and scent from the many rose bushes and peonies.

Skiing
Ski Resorts: S.Anna Pelago (44°11'26, 49"N, 10°33'07, 73"E, max 50 min. by car), Cerreto Laghi (44°17'54, 52"N,10°14'33, 31"E, max. 40 min. by car). Carlo is also a professional italian ski instructor and B.A.S.I. (British Association Snowsport Instructor) and he is available for ski lessons (individual,family or groups).

Special interest holidays
In the months of May, June and September Carlo is available to accompany the guests in simple walks in the district of the Appennino Tosco Emiliano and of the Alps Apuane.

There are many low-cost flights from the UK on the following airlines: Easy Jet, Ryanair, Jet2.com, Thomson Fly.com. Pisa and Genova are the nearest airports (100km), and you can hire a car at a special rate through some airlines. On application we furnish service transport from and for the airports Genova/Pisa (120 euro)

Further details
The Ligurian and Tuscan coasts are close by, so you can explore the unspoilt fishing villages of the Cinque Terre, laze on the sandy beaches of La Versiliaor shop glamorous Portofino. The Garfagnana has many pretty medieval villages that hold colourful festivals in summer. You can sample the local cuisine and wine, listen to live music and dance the night away Italian style! Lucca is only 70km away and is well worth a day trip. Marvel at the medieval and renaissance architecture, take a bike ride around the city walls or simply pass the time of day in a pavement cafe', sipping a Prosecco. Pisa and Florence are a maximum 2 hours drive from Tripala. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit and see the architectural and artistic treasures. Autumn is the ideal period to visit the numberless villages and historical towns, to walk in the charming autumn woods, and to rest and get the last tintarella, enjoying the warm sun, in your beautiful terrace overlooking the spectacular Apuan Alps. A wide choice of local specialities are offered in this period by the local restaurants and osterie, and can also be savoured during the various country celebrations in the nearby villages. In mild weather, you can easily reach from Tripala the Tirrenian sea beaches and villages, to enjoy long peaceful walks (i.e. Cinque Terre trekking path) and excellent Tuscanian and Ligurian fish cooking, out of the crowds of the high season! If you are fond of skiing and winter sports Xmas is the right time to come! Carp and trout fishing at the Lake of Gramolazzo,fee for two weeks 10,00 euro. The closest bank is in Casola in Lunigiana (6 km from Tripala).

Booking notes
In order to confirm your stay in Tripala, a deposit of 30% of the full payment should be paid at the time of booking. The remaining amount must be paid on arrival. The easiest method is by bank transfer though we do accept cheques and credit cards (Visa, Visa Electron, V Pay, Master card, Maestro, Diners, Pagobancomat). Possibility of payment by cash..

A really lovely apartments with every modern comfort. Stupendous views over the garden and mountains from our terrace. Location ideal for visiting Lucca, Pisa, Barga, the Cinque Terre and mountain villages. This is the real Italy. Rosemary & Geoffrey May England.

About the owner
We are a family of four, with two girls aged 10 and 13. Silvia is a teacher in a local school, and I run the family farm. We grow organic olives and wheat. Many cats, two dogs and two donkeys are part of the family.
