Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Preference is given to bookings for exclusive use of the entire villa and the price for this may be negotiable in low season. Please enquire. Depending on availability, it is also possible to book the apartments individually. There are additional charges for heating, daily or inter-weekly cleaning. Please note: fully booked 26 July - 22 August. Special offer: 10% discount from 22 July - 30 September, 2008.

La Loggia

The ground floor apartment "La Loggia" has a large living room with an open fireplace dating from 1853, TV Satellite (CNN etc), DVD, VCR, a large kitchen with dishwasher and dining area, a communal washing machine, 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an alfresco dining area.

La Torretta

The first floor apartment "La Torretta" has a kitchen/dining room with dishwasher, TV Satellite and communal washing machine. There are also 1 double-room and 1 double room + 1 single bed ( family room), 2 bathrooms and an alfresco dining area-patio.

Il Granaio

”Il Granaio” is an independent apartment next to the Mulino which has just been refurbished. It has a pretty kitchen with dishwasher and dining area with a small fire-place and tv satellite ( BBC World, etc), a communal washing machine, a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. Il Granaio can be rented independently or would be ideal for two people who want a little privacy with a cosy and relaxed atmosphere, whilst staying close to friends or family.

Notes on accommodation
We have 2 swimming pools, at Il Mulino and at Mimmi's. At Mulino delle Capannacce, we have spacious parking secured by Remote electronic gates. Our guests may use the swimming pool and booking the tennis court. If you would like you could taste our speciality (lasagne, cannelloni, chiken roast, tiramisù...) at Trattoria Mimmi and you can deliver home made food from Mimmi's to Il Mulino.
Cooking lessons are also available: 1 How made pasta 2 start with lasagne and cannelloni 3 you cook and test your pasta...

Coast/Beach
It is about a 2 hour drive to either the east or the west coast of Italy. Lago Trasimeno is a 15 minute drive from Il Mulino delle Capannacce. Here there are beaches, wind surfing and other aquatic opportunities for guest to enjoy. There are ferries to the islands on the lake where you can explore the spot that St Francis spent time fasting in 1211.

Special interest holidays
Mercatale di Cortona is on the Tuscan/Umbrian border and has a convenient location, is near Cortona (only 19km), is only 15 minutes away from the Florence to Perugia Superstrada, making visits to Siena (50km.), Perugia (40km.), Trasimeno Lake (12 km.), Gubbio (40km.), Assisi (45km.), Spello (43km.) all within one hour's drive. The nearest town is Cortona (19 km.) which is featured by Frances Mayes in "Under the Tuscan Sun" and "Bella Tuscany".
We can also arrange for a taxi to collect you at the airport or train station. Florence is only 1&1/2 hour by train, Rome is only 2 hours by train, rail station is only 20 min. from Mercatale, it is possible a day trip to Florence or to Rome.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Il Mulino delle Capannacce for a two week period of time in May of 2007. It was absolutely perfect for our 2nd visit to Tuscany. As we were traveling with another couple, we had rented the upper floor of the Villa. The accommodations were absolutely fantastic, it was homey, very clean and extremely comfortable. The location was great for traveling to all the places we had planned to visit or re-visit. fact, if there was anything at all that we needed, Giovanni was Giovanni & Laura were charming and gracious hosts who made you feel like you were part of the family.
The sumptuous meals prepared by Mimmi were truly unforgettable. We quickly learned that you had to bring a healthy appetite when you went for lunch or dinner. Without a doubt, you will not go away hungry! Oh, so good!!
This was a wonderful experience and should we return for another Tuscany holiday, we would definitely stay at Il Mulino.
