1 and 2 Bedroom Apartments

The top floor of this Palazzo has been beautifully converted to a very high standard, into 2 stunning apartments. Both apartments retain many of the original features of stone flooring, exposed brick work and star vaulted ceilings. I have furnished each apartment simply with local furniture and used a local artisan to build very individual bathrooms and kitchens. Both have central heating and air conditioning. There is also DVD and CD players compatible with ipods and a small library of books and CDs. The kitchens are fully equipped for cooking the fantastic local produce. Which is available from the amazing Monday market or the many specialised local shops. Cisternino has a reputation as a town of gastronomy and has no shortage of restaurants and trattorias spilling out onto the small traffic free cobbled streets. These apartments are suitable for couples, with or without children. Children should be over the age of 8 years as the terrace is not encased.

NO animals are allowed.
Accessibility
The properties are up 3 flights of steep external stairs and are therefore not suitable for the elderly and disabled.
Outside
There is a beautiful terrace which is shared with the other apartment. Each apartment has a table, chairs and sun lounge area plus a large sun shade.
There is also a hot tub, again shared between the 2 apartments.
The washing machine is on the terrace and is shared.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is only 15km away (10 mins in the car) however the whole Adriatic coast is all beaches and suitable for the sun loungers, beachcombers, scuba divers and wild walkers.
Travel
Cisternino is only 45 minutes from Brindisi and 1 hour from Bari. Ryanair services both airports. During the summer months British Airways flies to Bari and Air Italia flight to both but via Rome first.
I strongly recommend hiring a car as there are so many places to visit, it would be sad to miss out.
Distances
Cisternino is fanatically central for visiting many towns nearby without spending hours in the car - Martina Franca, Ostuni, Locorotondo, Francavilla, Fasano, Ceglia, Alberobello all not more than 15 - 20 mins in the car. Lecce with its famous baroque architecture is 1 hour.
Further details
Cisternino is a beautiful hill town dating back to the 14th century. It is famed for its food and voted in the top 10 of the most beautiful towns in Italy. It has a strong Mediterranean feel due to its stunning whitewashed houses and rabbit warren cobbled streets. In the summer the bougainvillea cascades from the balconies and the trattorias spill out onto the street and piazzas. One needs to start the day with a cappuccino and end the day with an evening prosecco at the local Bar Fod (has wifi).
There is an amazing local market on Mondays for all local produce, a fantastic culinary experience, but if you miss this there are many small specialised shops for pasta, pizza, bread, lots of small supermarkets. There are several banks with cashpoint facilities and one Internet shop. There is also cycle rental shop.
