Vitignanello is a young winery in Chianti producing a fabulous Super Tuscan recently mentioned on the gourmet food and wine channel ‘Gambero Rosso’ for its quality and the beauty of the estate itself. Vitignanello offers its guests 3 independent luxury apartment rentals in a converted barn on top of the historical hamlet of Pianella. The barn, originally part of a larger estate comprising thousands of hectares of land and buildings is now a private residence overlooking the vineyard to one side and the beautiful panorama of the Chianti Region, its rolling hills dotted by olive groves and lined by vineyards to the other. The careful conversion of the barn, designed by a Sienese architect was carried out maintaining the simple traditional exterior structure of Tuscan barns whilst making the interiors very elegant, with astonishing design elements which are a true delight for the appreciative and the connoisseur. Comfort, ecology and beauty are the underlying motives of the house.

Accommodation

Padronale (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8)

Padronale is the larger unit at Vitignanello. Designed and built to be the owners’ summer residence, this apartment was carefully decorated and furnished to provide full comfort. The apartment has an independent entrance at the front of the barn, with direct access to the pool and garden, equipped with outdoors eating and cooking facilities. Developing over two floors and 200 sq metres, Padronale hosts 2 large en-suite double bedrooms and a twin bedroom with its own full bathroom. A lovely reading room can be enclosed and accommodate another 2 guests. The first floor is accessed through an elegant design marble staircase which leads directly into the bright and airy open space living area, cleverly designed to accommodate a cosy sitting room with fireplace, kitchen and dining room. The whole floor is paved and decorated with Travertine from the ancient quarry of Rapolano, historically used by the Romans to decorate their villas and build their monuments.

Santa Lucia (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

Santa Lucia is one of two 70 sqm apartments sitting on the ground floor in the back portion of the of the barn. It is made up of a lovely private patio with outdoors eating and cooking facilities accessed directly through the bright, welcoming lounge with fireplace. Off the lounge is a fully fitted kitchen and a corridor leading to the two bedrooms, an ensuite double and a twin with private bathroom. The decor is very elegant, only the best materials were used. the house has central heating and air conditioning. The 15x5 mt panoramic swimming pool placed at the front of the barn is easily accessed through a side passage.

San Giovanni (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

San Giovanni is one of two 70 sqm apartments sitting on the ground floor in the back portion of the of the barn. It is made up of a lovely private terrace with outdoors eating and cooking facilities accessed directly through the bright, welcoming lounge with fireplace. Off the lounge is a fully fitted kitchen and a corridor leading to the two bedrooms, an en-suite double and a twin with private bathroom. The decor is very elegant, only the best materials were used. the house has central heating and air-conditioning. The 15x5 mt panoramic swimming pool placed at the front of the barn is easily accessed through a side passage.

Notes on accommodation
The large windows and sliding rollaway shutters of Padronale allow magnificent 360° stretching from the Chianti landscape, with its rolling hills and castles as far as Monte Amiata.
Padronale is equipped with air conditioning, the 2 bedroom apartments are not.
Heating and hot water are produced by solar energy thanks to the panels installed in the back portion of the property.

Outside
The barn has a large green at the front hosting a lovely panoramic 15X5 mt swimming pool at the centre, the estate's chianti vineyard on the left and an olive grove on the right. The swimming pool area is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas and a solar powered shower.
Each apartments has a private terrace or patio equipped with table and chairs.
