Torre del Guado Country House is an impressive stone manor house located placed amidst the countryside between the medieval towns of Anghiari and Sansepolcro, close to Arezzo–Cortona, and within easy driving distance of Florence, Siena and other cities of art. This historical Villa, with outstanding views on the enchanting Tuscan scenery, what inspired great painters as Piero della Francesca, Raffaello, Leonardo, Signorelli, … dates back to the 13th century and recently has been carefully restored and transformed into a warm and elegant Country holiday farmhouse, where all the modern conveniences, including Wireless Internet connection, have been added to many of original preserved features. The villa’s accommodation consists of 2 reception rooms and 5 refined self-catering, of different sizes and typology, with excellent facilities. The whole holiday house inside very large secure beautifully maintained equipped gardens with the panoramic 15 x 7 swimming pool.

The Owner's Rates have been already Discounted.
-Rates quoted are for the number of guests accommodated in the beds. Daily surcharge due to over-occupancy accommodated on a sofa/divan is € 10 per/day, € 50 per/week.
-Prices Include: pool (open from 15/05/2010 to 25/09/2010), linens including pool towels, water, electricity, gas, private covered parking, private washing-machine, weekly laundry change, final cleaning, highchairs and use of the mountain bikes,taxes (IVA 10%).

Changeover day
Only from 19/06/2010 to 20/08/2010 the apartments can be rented only weekly, from Saturday to Saturday. Shorter periods available in off-season (2 day minimum) from any to any day.

Very spacious open plan living/dining with 1 sleeper sofa-queen, fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 6, plus fireplace, satellite TV and wireless Internet on request.
The upper level consists of 2 bedrooms: 1 queen sized bedroom with very ample wardrobe space and 1 twin (convertible into a double) with very ample wardrobe. A well appointed bathroom with shower is also located on the upper floor. Sleeps 4+2: 4 are the guests accommodated in beds. Other 2 guests can be accommodated on the double sofa bed (extra charge € 10 per /day for each guest).

90 square metres, 2 very large rooms – this 1 level splendid apartment enjoys of great privacy because it is located on the first floor in the most historical wing of the Villa, with its own private entrance. It is a popular choice for couples on their honeymoon but it is perfect also for small family groups.
Far from the typology of the other ones, this apartment is a wonderful suite with all comforts of a furnished apartment. You find a very spacious open plan living/dining area with 1 Sleeper Sofa-Queen plus 1 single sofa/divans, fully equipped kitchen and dining table for 8. On the same floor there is 1 one queen sized bedroom, with a wardrobe space, and a well appointed bathroom with shower. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 very large living-room.
Sleeps 2/5: 2 are the guests accommodated in beds; other 3 guests can be accommodated on the sofa/divans, present in the living-room (charge: € 10 per/day for each guest).

The upper level features 1 queen sized bedroom, with a wardrobe space and the well appointed bathroom with shower. Private outdoor patio with sunshade. This spacious one bedroom apartment may easily accommodate 2 + 2 guests. 2 are the guests accommodated in beds. Other 2 guests can be accommodated on the double sofa bed (charge € 10 per /day for each guest).

 

Notes on accommodation
All the apartments are tastefully and stylishly decorated thanks to a carefully selected colour scheme and enjoy plenty of natural light along with panoramic views of the Tuscan landscape. Each self catering accommodation has its independent entry on the ground floor from the garden, own fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchen-corner (4 plates, gas, refrigerator, ice compartment, electric oven, toaster..), 1 bathroom, with shower, bidet, sink, wc, and all the benefits of modern technology (Satellite TV, individual washing machine and heating ). All linens, including swimming pool towels and tables cloths, fans and windows mosquito-nets are provided. On demand available: free Highchairs, iron and hair dryer; Wireless connection (charge € 4 per/day), Baby-cot (extra € 5 per/day). The sofa/divan, present in each living-room, can be transformed into another double or single bed. Each apartment is furnished for private outdoor dining area with sunshade and garden furniture.

Outside
In the centre of large and beautifully maintained gardens (20.000 mq), where you may stroll through vast green areas and enjoy a spectacular view on the Tuscan landscape, there is the panoramic and equipped 15 x 7 swimming pool (purified through filters with sea salt without the bother of the chlorine) with outside shower, for only guests’ use and relax. The gardens provide, also, plenty of garden furniture: 3 gazebos, sun-beds, tables, chairs, sunshade and a playing and barbecue area.

There are 2 golf clubs close to Torre del Guado. The first is at around 6km, the second is close to Perugia, at 50km from Torre del Guado, 40 mins drive.

Torre del Guado is easily accessible from Rome, Florence, Forlμ and Perugia airports. Fly direct to Bologna-Forli via Ryanair, or to Florence, or to Ancona via Ryanair (2 hours' drive), or to Bologna, Pisa or Rome. For Perugia, our nearest airport (45 minutes drive), flights from UK currently change at Milan.
By Car: from Milan-Bologna: A14 Freeway to Cesena: exit Cesena nord, Follow E45 Superhighway to Rome-Perugia- exit Sansepolcro sud. From Rome-Orte: E45 Superhighway Perugia-Cesena.

Further details
This area has a great culinary tradition: everywhere you can enjoy the wonderful dishes of Tuscan cuisine, accompanied by the fine wines. There are a number of music festivals in the region, including Umbria Jazz in Perugia and Tuscan Sun Festival of Cortona in July. The sport and nature lovers may take excursions on foot, on horseback or on mountain bike and wander through woods and vineyards, ruins of old churches, castles and lovely old farm buildings. Golf Club, tennis-courts and horse-riding are at short driving distance. Lakes Trasimeno and Montedoglio provide water-sports, trips to islands & a small beach. For art lovers, in this area there are Signorelli, Perugino, Pinturicchio frescos in addition to the 'Piero della Francesca trail' around Arezzo, Sansepolcro & Monterchi. For those of you who prefer to indulge in sporting activities: Trekking, biking, fishing at 3km, windsurfing on the near Montedoglio lake (7km), golf (18 holes) 6km away, horse-riding plus school at 2 and 6km; tennis courts and and five-a-side football at 2 kms, a very equipped modern gym and professional instructors, sauna, Turkish bath... at 3km, in Sansepolcro. The Adriatico sea at approximately one hour driving. *For other interests: thermal baths (Fontecchio) and beauty farm 14km, short driving to museums, cultural sites. Antiquary's objects (Anghiari, Sansepolcro, Arezzo).

Booking notes
Easter and Christmas festivity are considered Mid season *(27/03/2010 – 09/04/2010) (18/12/2010-03/01/2010. During the booking, it is in demand, by bank transfer or credit card, a down payment equal to the 30% of the whole cost of the stay (balance due at check out). Security: 150 euros for apartment: the deposit will be returned on your departure.
Daily booking: at least 2 nights only in low and mid-low, 3 nights at Christmas and Easter.

'We - a danish family on 6 persons stayed at Torre Del Guado app. Gelso for 14 days in the beginning of July 09
Its now the 7 time we are visiting Italy and our experience this time is beyond every thing ever seen - the hospitality and friendlyness from our host is something never experienced before. The place is lovely - very well kept and its clearly to see the proudness from the owners about the place. Its very easy to reach all the main cities in tuscany such as Florence, Siena and Arezzo or if prefered finding small towns in the hills. We can only highly recommend to everybody Torre Del Guado and we certainly want to go back there next year Mattia and Giuseppe, thank you so much again for 2 wonderful weeks.
