This medieval property had just been fully and sympathetically restored to bring out its delightful character. Situated at the top of the historic old town, right under the Castello Malaspina, the house enjoys a quiet location with spectacular views over the valley and town, up to the castle and down to the sea from the large roof terrace. The lower part of the house is hewn from the rock and the 'grotto' on the ground floor is kept cool and refreshing, even on the hottest summer days, by the natural water flow. There are two bathrooms and flexible sleeping accommodation over four separate areas.

Changeover day
Changeover days can be flexible, especially out of high season. Guests are requested to vacate the premises by 11am on the day of departure unless other arrangements are made at the time of booking.

Notes on accommodation
Please note that the original stone stairs are very steep and the house would not be suitable for the elderly or infirm, or those with very young children.
We also ask guests to respect that this is a non-smoking house. If you need to smoke please only do so on the terrace.

Accessibility
Because of the steep stairs as well as the steep access through cobbled streets this would not be a suitable property for wheelchair users.
Outside
The roof terrace is spacious and enjoys spectacular views over the cathedral and town, across the valley to the countryside, down to the sea and up to the castle. It is furnished with a table and chairs, has lighting and is a perfect location for relaxing and sunbathing or entertaining.
Coast/Beach
The beach at Bosa Marina - one of the finest in Sardinia, and reputed to be the cleanest - is 2km distant. A few kilometres up the spectacular Corniche to Alghero are more wild and unspoilt sandy and rocky beaches.
Travel
Alghero airport is 50km - approximately 1 hour 15 minutes spectacular drive and there are now some direct buses to Bosa from the airport. The house is within walking distance of all facilities and the beach. But hiring a car (easily done from Alghero airport, but book online ahead for the best deals) would facilitate further exploration of this glorious area. Olbia airport is about 2 hours drive away.
Distances
Alghero is 45 km away, 45 mins drive. The glorious mountains ranges of the Supramonte and the Gennargentu National Park are within a couple of hours. Cagliari and the Costa Smeralda are around 2.5 hours drive.
Further details
There are numerous restaurants bars, shops and supermarkets within 5 minutes walk of the house which is in the maze of narrow cobbled streets known as 'Sa Costa', or the 'centro storico'.
