La Villa is a magnificent country residence situated in the green hills of northern Umbria between Gubbio and Citta' di Castello. This typical Umbrian stone farmhouse dates back from centuries ago and is surrounded by 2 ha. of private grounds, offering a panoramic view across the Carpina valley. The house was recently restored respecting the original architecture. High ceilings, exposed wooden beams, stone features and terracotta tiles provide a rustic atmosphere. There are 3 comfortable and attractive apartments, each fully independent with private terrace, tastefully furnished and well equipped. A beautiful swimming pool is situated on the south side of the house. There is a terraced garden, gazebo with open fireplace and lounge sofas and a large piazza where it is possible to enjoy an outside meal together with the other guests. The Dutch owners, who live in a part of the main house, will gladly invite you for a glass of wine or for a pizza prepared in the wood burned oven.

The interior specially designed for La Villa consists of a combination of modern design and hand-made furniture by the local craftsmen. Description: 1 bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet and wardrobe. Living room with fully equipped kitchen corner. Extra bathroom/storage. This sunny apartment is characterized by its architectural structure: four large arched double French windows lead to the private terrace with a pergola and garden furniture, inviting you to have your meals outside enjoying the beautiful view over the surrounding countryside. From here you have direct access to the swimming pool. |

An external stair with a small balcony gives access to this beautiful and romantic apartment (40 m2) on the first floor. The impressive high ceiling with exposed wooden beams, the antique tiles and stone features create that rustic atmosphere that you can experience in the Italian countryside. The use of design sanitary and lamps give the right contrast. The apartment has central heating, TV and internet connection. Description: Large room with double bed (can be transformed into twin beds) with day area and kitchenette. Bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet and bidet. On request an extra bed can be added. Caifem has its own terraced garden for dining al fresco under the mulberry trees. On the terrace wooden garden furniture, big umbrella and sun loungers. A perfect spot with an overlook over the surrounding green hills. |

Notes on accommodation
All apartments have a free of charge connection to the internet, Wifi, central heating, TV and hairdryer. On request there is a DVD player and a laptop available. The guests are welcome to use products from the vegetable garden and there is a 'cantina' with wine and regional products. Further a communal laundry room with washing machine, iron board and iron.
Children are welcome. Pets not allowed.
On request it is possible to join us for dinner twice a week or to order a meal on arrival.
Outside of high season it is possible to book including breakfast.
La Terrazza can only be booked in high season for a min. stay of 2 weeks.
Outside
The shared swimming pool (10m x 5m) has Roman stairs and there are comfortable sun beds. Pool towels are provided.
The pool area includes a covered terrace (gazebo) with an open fireplace and luxurious lounge sofa's.
Each apartment has its own private terrace with outdoor furniture made of (teak)wood.
Coast/Beach
The Adriatic coast within 1 hour drive.
Golf
Several golf courses within 45 min. drive.
Skiing
Skiing facilities on a small scale within 45 min. drive.
Special interest holidays
Umbria is famous for its truffles. In late autumn and winter guests can go on truffle (and mushroom) picking with a local guide.

Nearest airports:
Perugia (35 min.), Forli (60 min.), Rimini, Ancona, Florence, Rome, Pisa.
A car is essential.
Distances
Pietralunga is on a distance of only 3 km.
Gubbio and Citta di Castello: 25 min. drive
Perugia, Assisi, Arezzo, Cortona, Urbino within 1 hour.
Further details
La Villa with its location only 3 km from Pietralunga, a medieval town not yet frequented by tourists, allows you to experience the real taste of Umbrian hospitality.
From here you can walk or explore the surroundings by mountain bike. Horse riding, archery, tennis, fishing, trekking and ultra-light flying within 5 min. There are several golf courses within 45 min.
Lake Trasimeno with its little towns and islands, and the beaches of the Adriatic coast are a one hour drive, and lovers of culture can visit the famous historical and medieval towns like Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Cortona, Spoleto, Todi and Orvieto and enjoy the museums, theatres, restaurants and the shopping possibilities. Also Rome, Florence and Siena can be reached by car or train. Moreover almost every town or little village in Umbria has its own festival or 'sagra' where history and traditions come alive with customs of the past, historical costumes, music and gourmet specialties.
For those who have a special interest in wine and/or olive oil there are several estates and wine areas that are worthwhile visiting.
Not far from La Villa you can find several restaurants serving all the local (truffle)delicacies and typical Umbrian dishes. Shops and supermarkets are also close by.
Booking notes
On reservation we kindly request a down payment of 30% of the total rental costs. The balance must be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
Together with the balance payment a security deposit has to be paid of Euro 200, which will be refunded in full within two weeks after departure, unless there are damages to be compensated.
