The nature reserve of Lake Piano lies between Lake Lugano and Lake Como. An ideal base to explore the northern lake district of Italy with its famous villas and its magnificent botanical gardens, such as Villa Carlotta or Villa Balbianello. The small town of Porlezza, on lake Lugano, with its historical centre is only 4km away. Lugano in Swizzerland is 15km away. Menaggio on Lake Como about 8km and the city of Como with its stylish shops about 35km. Exit motorway at Lugano South and follow the signs to Gandria/San Moritz-Porlezza-Menaggio. Things to do include cycling track, restaurants, excursions around lake Piano (200m from the apartment), mountain biking, horse back riding, tennis, hiking, golf, fishing and water-sports.

Prices are for property per week in Euros. Extra costs: final cleaning, bed linen and towels € 100/120. Heating, if used 1,50 euros x m3. 100 euros refundable cash deposit is requested at the arrival day.
Changeover day
Holiday rental from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival from 4pm and departure within 10am.

There are 2 golf clubs: one is the beautiful Menaggio Golf Club in Croce at about 7km from the apartment and the second one is The Golf Club in Lanzo d'Intelvi at about 20km.

16km from Lugano train station. 20km from Lugano Agno airport. 30km from Como train station. 80km from Milan Malpensa airport. 130km from Milan Linate airport. A car is reccomended.

The appartment is well situated overlooking Lake Piano. You can easily take a bus from the bottom of the road in either direction, to Lake Lugano and to Lake Como, so you don't need a car. The surrounding foothills make great walking country, and there are cheap and tasty restaurants in even the remote villages. There is a supermarket close by, and a choice of useful little shops. Vania's warmth and energy really made the place very special. Nothing is too much trouble, Vania will go out of her way to make her visitors comfortable. 22/5/10
