Owner profile
About the owner
Hi folks, firstly, thanks for your interest and looking us up. I am 51 years old and my partner, Phyl, is 55 years old (she'd murder me if she knew I were making this fact public!). We're both long suffering teachers who have taught for many years in the field of special education. I teach in the state sector and Phyl is head of learning support at a prep school in the independent sector. Our kids have all finished uni and should (God willing) be fleeing the nest very shortly for pastures new. Happily, we planned in advance for this joyous event, and purchased this little retreat in the sun so that we could make full use of it now and the family in the future. We absolutely love Sardinia and hopefully it will be part of our lives for many years to come.
Year purchased: 2004
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We had originally planned to buy a property on the mainland (Italy) Quite by chance when looking at a number of properties on an agent's books, he asked whether we had considered Sardinia. I couldn't have told you where Sardinia was before this but a week later we found ourselves on an inspection trip to its' north coast. Everything else is history so they say. We were so impressed with every aspect of the island - the scenery, the culture, the beaches, the friendliness of the locals, the lack of traffic jams and road rage.... I could go on at length. After viewing a number of properties, we had no hesitation in purchasing at Costa Paradiso. It's not easy to describe so I recommend you simply google Costa Paradiso for images. This will give you a real flavour of this unique resort.
Unique benefits of the property
As prospective purchasers, we were shown more than half a dozen properties. Quite honestly, we might have bought every one of them as they all had great points.
Nevertheless we had no hesitation in purchasing the property we own. Our first priority was convenience for amenities. Well, you can walk to all facilities - shops, supermarket, restaurant, bars, pool within a minute!
Our second priority was privacy. Maybe I'm becoming more grumpy as I get older but I'll freely admit that I don't enjoy being overlooked by neighbouring properties and I don't like excessive noise from a disco beat when I'm trying to sleep. Our property is tucked away so is not overlooked and we experience very little noise from the village. The only downer! (yes we like to be honest) - it has no sea view.
