The house is located less than 1km away from the nearest village, Civitaquana. The house is furnished with all the modern conveniences and Play station games, DVDs, board games and books are all available for your entertainment! There is also a traditional pizza oven, outdoor lighting, tables and chairs for al fresco eating. The nearest beach is Pescara which is 45 minutes away. Pescara beach has over 20 km of beautiful sandy beach, merging into the Adriatic. There are many lovely restaurants along the beach front. Pescara is the major city within the Abruzzo region and it is one of the most important commercial, economic and tourist centres on the Adriatic coast. There is a large shopping district, with many fashionable boutiques and it has a very lively nightlife. There are also many ski resorts close by. The nearest skiing resort, Passo Lanciano-Maieletta district is accessed 50 minutes away from the house. The cottage is ideal for familes or romantic retreats.

Notes on prices
Shorter letting periods are considered (4 nights or more), at £70 per night in the summer. £85 per night in the winter period or weekends throughout the year (Friday - Sunday).
Changeover day
The changeover day is flexible.
Check-in time is 12.30 on day of arrival and check-out time is 10am.
Check-in times can be flexible if discussed prior to your visit.

Skiing
Abruzzo has 21 ski areas with 368km. of runs, all within a few hours of Rome. The most developed resort being Roccaraso, followed by Campo Felice and Campo Imperatore.
The nearest skiing resort, Passo Lanciano-Maieletta district is accessed 50 minutes away from the house. This ski resort include 22 Km of pistes, 1 chair lift and 11 ski lifts. There is also 12 Km of Nordic skiing available. From the slopes you can see the Adriatic sea while you are skiing. There are 3 ski schools and 2 snow parks within this district.
Roccaraso-Rivisondoli offers the largest skiing resort in the Abruzzo region, 1 1/2 hrs drive from the house, with 156Km of slopes, 2 double chair lifts, 29 chair lifts, 19 ski lifts, 5 handle tows. There is also 40km of Nordic skiing available. There are 7 ski schools and many activities are available in the different areas of this ski resort. There are 6 ski resorts within the Abruzzo region.
Travel
The country house is a 45 minute drive from Pescara airport and 2 hours 40 minutes from Rome.
It is possible fly to Rome Ciampino and Pescara from the UK by Ryanair. Numerous other budget airlines and international scheduled carriers fly into Rome from all over the world.

Distances
The property is 1km away from the nearest village, Civitaquana. Civitaquana was supposed to be an ancient Roman town. The castle is a witness of 2 famous feudatary families: the Sordello and the Leognani Fieramosca family. In the centre of the village, there is a beautiful church of S. Maria delle Grazie, which is the expression of architecture of Lombardy, was entirely built with brick.
