Our apartments are located on the mountain of Mastrissa, just a short drive to Taormina and the beach. Set within private gated grounds and surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. With ample parking and lots of space The Lemon Tree is also home to its English/Italian speaking owners who are on hand to provide you with useful, local information, assist with excursion enquiries and are generally on hand to ensure your holiday runs smoothly. On arrival in Taormina we will meet you at a convenient location and bring you directly to your apartment where you will have the peace and tranquility of country accommodation in a safe, relaxed environment with plenty of fantastic places to visit close by.

Notes on accommodation
Apartments are suitable for all age groups and are available all year round. Perfect location and size for families, couples or groups. All apartments have air conditioning. There is an outdoor swimming pool shared amongst the apartments open 30th April - 25th October.
Accessibility
On the ground floor there is a small step to consider on entering the apartment. There has been no specific adaptions for wheelchair users.
Outside
Private garden/relaxation area, barbecue area, tables and chairs for alfresco dining. Swimming pool, games area with table football, swing ball and table tennis.
Coast/Beach
A 10 minute drive will take you to the stretch of local beaches. Choose from sandy, pebbly, private and free. You will find various options to suit your needs, water sports, boat hire, excursions and Lido's offering sunloungers, umbrellas, various bars and restaurants.
Experience the 3 minute cable car journey from Taormina to the Bay of Mazzaro or take the 300 steps down to the stunning beach of Isola Bella.
Golf
The local golf course is a 30 minute scenic drive. Il Picciolo is the 1st 18 hole golf course in Sicily.
Skiing
Ski Mount Etna, open from December through to April, weather permitting.
Special interest holidays
Organic Olive Oil Making - Join us in this annual tradition and produce your very own Organic Olive Oil. Holiday here in November and December and spend your time picking the Olives, trimming the trees and then take the olives to the producion plant and watch your Organic Olive Oil being produced.
Holiday here in September and help us make a very tasty organic red wine. Join us in this annual tradition of picking and pressing the grapes.
Also in September is the traditional tomato sauce procedure. Enjoy the satisfaction of boiling and pressing your tomatoes and producing organic tomato sauce, you will not have tasted better!
Other Specialist holidays include, Sicilian Cookery Classes, Italian Language Lessons, Scuba Diving around the famous Isola Bella and the Grotta Azzura.
Travel
Catania airport is a 45 minute drive to Taormina. Due to our location we do recommend that you hire a car, we can organise this for you. An airport taxi service is also available at a cost of 70 euros each way.
The port of Messina is the gateway to Italy mainland, this is a 50 minute drive to Taormina.
Distances
There are many places to visit whilst on holiday in Taormina. We are 20 minutes to the medieval town of Castelmola, 45 minutes to Mount Etna, 20 minutes to The Gorge Of Alcantara and 30 minutes to Forza di Agro. Further afield we are 2 hours from Siracuse, Agrigento or you can take a day trip to one of The Aeolian Islands.
Further details
The local mini-market is a 10 minute drive where you will also find the local butchers, bakers and various other shops. The nearest hypermarket is a 20 minute drive. There are various bars and restaurants available all within a 10 minute drive.

My name is Karen, I am from the north of England and I came to live in Sicily in July 2007. My husband and I run our business the Lemon Tree together. We have a villa/holiday apartments and we are also local wedding planners.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Sicily is beautiful, it is full of amazing scenery, hidden piazza's and is rich in real Italian culture. You can spend hours wandering around the narrow cobbled streets, people watch from the corso Umberto or generally soak up the wonderful Sicilian life.
