Notes on prices
The second floor offers an enlarged version (8 guests): on demand, two more adjacent double bedrooms and one bathroom can be added to the apartment, with a 35% additional charge.
The weekly prices include: wireless internet connection, towels, sheets, final and weekly (for long stays) cleaning. Baby chair and bed available for free. Extra maid service available and not included. Pets welcome. Air-conditioning and heating not included.
A 30% deposit is required at the booking.

Changeover day
Changeover day (flexible for Adolfo' s House): Saturday.
Departure at 10am., arrival if possible between 14 and 18pm.

Villa Aureli - First floor

First floor This spacious apartment (200 sq.m.) has original 18th century furniture and decorations and independent access from the garden via a small ancient tower. Its large drawing room has an open fireplace, a piano and four large windows with beautiful views on the garden. TV. Cozy double bedroom with king size bed and large bathroom with bath, shower, hairdryer, natural olive oil soaps. Bedroom with large twin beds. Second bathroom with bath and shower, twin basins, washing machine, hairdryer. Studio with comfortable sofa-bed and second large and extra-long sofa bed in the living room. Small but fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, beautiful dining-room with ancient prints on the walls. Baby bed and chair available on demand, pets welcome; free wireless Internet connection available. Note: by simply unlocking a door, the first and second floor apartments can be joined, and the main villa can be rented as a whole for large groups of friends.

Villa Aureli - Second floor

Second floor This bright apartment (200 sq.m.) has original 18th century furniture and decorations, four balconies and many windows overlooking the garden. Rare sets of ancient prints decorate the drawing room, the large dining room and the gallery. The main stairway of the villa provides independent access from the garden. Double room with king-size bed, twin bedroom with extra large and long beds, large shared bathroom with twin basins, bath and shower. Wonderful views from all windows. Large fully equipped kitchen with dish-washer and washing machine. On demand, an enlarged version of this apartment may be available, adding one double bedroom with king-size bed and a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Note: by simply unlocking a door, the first and second floor apartments can be joyned, and the main Villa can be rented as a whole for large groups of friends. Baby bed and chair available on demand, pets welcome; free wireless Internet connection available.

Villa Aureli - Adolfo West

The House of Adolfo. During World War II Villa Aureli was used as headquarters by the German and then by the allied troops. Adolfo Guelfi was the faithful gardener who saved all the furniture and precious objects contained in the villa by walling them up in a large room. The House, built in XVIII century, is adjacent to the orangerie; it has been recently restored respecting the original features. It has air-co and modern facilities, and original furniture from the villa. Direct access to the garden and to the swimming pool, and private spaces for open-air dining. Adolfo West This apartment has an own entrance from Adolfo's courtyard. On the ground floor, living room with kitchen and dining space. Dishwasher. Living room with flat-screen TV and home theater. First floor bedroom with king-size bed and big sofa-bed, bathroom with bath and shower, hairdryer. Tower bedroom with king-size bed, wonderful views, smaller bathroom with shower. Direct access and private spaces in the garden.

Villa Aureli - Adolfo East

Adolfo East This apartment (80 sq.m) has an independent entrance via the eastern facade of Adolfo's House and an external staircase, and is located on the first floor. It has a a private courtyard, kitchen/living room with flat-screen TV and DVD player. The kitchen has a microwave oven, a fridge with small freezer, and a dishwasher. The lovely blue bedroom has a king-size bed and the other room has two beds, which can be joined if necessary. Both rooms have a nice view over the courtyard of the ancient well and wood oven. Comfortable bathroom with bath and shower. Hairdryer. Direct access to the garden and to the swimming pool, and private spaces for open-air and candlelight dining in the garden and in the courts. Beautiful ancient paintings on the walls. Fully equipped laundry with washing machine and iron in the basement. Note: by unlocking a door the two apartments in Adolfo's House can be joyned and host a large group of friends.

Notes on accommodation
Heating available in Second floor, Adolfo West and Adolfo East apartments. Air-conditioning in Adolfo West and East. The guests of each apartment have a private entrance and private spaces in the large garden, to relax and to enjoy dinner outside by candlelight. Free baby bed and baby chair available on request for all the apartments. Children are always very welcome.

Accessibility
Unfortunately the Villa is not suitable for people with mobility problems.

Outside
The guests of all the apartments have free access to the swimming pool (12x4), made out the ancient water cistern of the vegetable garden, situated in a fenced and very sunny area. The Internet point is under an old linden tree in the main courtyard: it is actually an Internet tree! The little dog Pepe looks after the guests, and the cats Cactus and Cocò are often around in the garden. Our sheeps and chickens have a peaceful life in the fields next to the swimming pool.
The view from the garden is wonderful and full of peace.
Barbecue and complete outdoor furniture available.
As we love animals, your pets are welcome!

Coast/Beach
There are steamers within easy reach and beaches on nearby Lake Trasimeno, at short distance drive from the villa. There are many wonderful towns around the lake, some with small beaches, and you can take a ferry across to the 3 Islands. There is a variety of water sports on offer at the lake and many wonderful seafood restaurants.

Special interest holidays
At Villa Aureli we try to preserve the environment and to offer our guests a stay consistent with the ecosystem. When the villa and the garden were made some centuries ago, there where no electricity nor gas, and chemical fertilizers did not exist. Both were therefore built in order to minimize
energy needs. The thick walls isolate the rooms from cold in winter and from heat in summer. The water pipes collecting rain from the roofs and leading it to the orangerie, to the fountain and to the water tank of the vegetable garden used to collect water for the garden without energy consumption. Modern life needs extra energy, so we provided to install a system of photovoltaic solar panels that covers the needs of all the apartments, including air-conditioning in Adolfo’s House, where the walls are not as thick as in the Villa. We offer our guests meals prepared using the natural products of our farm, following the traditions of Umbrian cookery.

Distances
Villa Aureli is situated next to the village of Castel del Piano. The ancient Etruscan city of Perugia with its monuments, museums and theatres is only 10 km away. The Lago Trasimeno with its islands is very close. Many other charming old cities of Umbria (Assisi, Todi, Città della Pieve, Gubbio, Spoleto, Orvieto), Tuscany (Siena, Cortona, Arezzo) and Marche (Urbino, Iesi) are within easy reach, i.e. less than about one hour by car. Firenze and Roma are at about two hours drive.

Further details
Shops, bank, post office pizzeria and church at 5 minutes walk in the village of Castel del Piano. The restaurants in the area are very good, and we can serve you very nice dinners, accompanied by our olive oil, wine, honey and limoncello of our farm and by the vegetables of our garden. Some of these products, like wine, oil, vin santo, limoncello, bitter orange marmalade and honey are available for sale to our guests.
We are surrounded by wonderful places to visit, rich in art, architecture and wonderful food. The ancient center of Perugia can be easily reached with a new panoramic flyover minimetro.
