Exclusive use of a stunning classic Italian house on the edge of a thriving village set in 10 acres of rolling countryside in the foothills of the mountains. Recently renovated to an exceptional standard the property includes a large swimming pool with a low profile telescopic cover, a small spa complete with sauna and steam room, a hard tennis court, a portico for alfresco dining and many beautiful views over olive groves, mountains and valleys. Being only 9 kilometres from Ascoli Piceno, the jewel in Marches’ crown, it is within easy reach of Italian culture and only a 35 minute drive from the bustle of the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic. The Sibilini mountains sit behind the house and in front are the panoramic views of the spectacular Gran Sasso range. The house offers total privacy – but at the end of the drive is one of the best restaurants of the Piceno area and a working village with all the traditional amenities (easy walking distance).

Coast/Beach
Apart from the pool and grounds of La Passione where you can soak up the sun and relax in total privacy, you are only 35 minutes from a bustling coastline. The beaches of Le Marche are long and sandy with warm shallow seas. Locally, San Benedetto and her fellow resorts provide safe bathing and beautifully manicured, palm treed boulevards for evening promenading – and the fish restaurants are unequalled!
Travel
The nearest airports are Pescara - 1 hour to the south, and Ancona 1.5 hours to the north. Hire cars are available from the airports although it is possible to take a fast train to Ascoli Piceno and from there a Pullman to Venarotta. You can walk into the village of Venarotta (La Passione sits on the outskirts) It has two mini supermarkets with their own fresh produce, a doctor, a pharmacy, a post office, a garage, a hairdresser, a fish shop, a bakery, a church and perhaps half a dozen bars!!
Distances
La Passione is 9 kilometres from Ascoli Piceno. This beautiful historic town is southern Marche's major centre - as its tourist brochure says, ‘it is a place you can see in a day yet never forget’. Its marble paved ‘Piazza del Popolo’ is one of the most beautiful in Italy. You can sit in the magnificent 1920’s restored bar of Meletti’s on the corner of the square with a cocktail and canapés and watch real Italian life at its best. It's wonderful for shopping, and has a big market twice a week
Further details
At the end of the drive we have the locally feted ‘Il Casolare’ serving magnificent fine Italian cuisine; in our village there is the great value pizza restaurant, ‘Arco Baleno’; in the next village (the local truffle centre) ‘Ruspante’ prepares a delicious rustic feast at a set price – no menu, just good quality local food. Ascoli has an abundance of restaurants both large and small – too many good choices to recommend here. And if that wasn’t enough, our neighbour is the proud manager the Venarotta wine cantina – excellent for all your local wines. Many people visit for the natural beauty of the area and much of the spectacular inland mountain country remains unscathed by human development. La Passione lies in the foothills of the Sibillini mountain range. Some of the most impressive mountain scenery can be found here – it’s a natural wilderness dotted with tiny mountain villages. The walks are abundant and often follow mountain streams –they are a botanist's paradise in spring. The park is also rich in bird life To our north lie the Frasassi caves, which are the longest and among the most interesting in Italy with a 240 m high central chamber. They are some of the most spectacular limestone caves you are ever likely to visit. Limestone again has created the Furlo Gorge, a dramatic natural pass through the mountains that has been in use since prehistoric times.
