Sopra (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

'Sopra' has a double bedroom with a large double bed and another smaller bedroom with 2 single beds. The bathroom has a shower over a small bath, bidet, basin, toilet, shaver point and a hairdryer. All the kitchen equipment is new: a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, superb convection oven with grill and gas hob, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, pots & pans, cutlery, attractive crockery and lovely glassware - we think we've thought of everything you'll need!The sitting room has 2 comfortable leather sofas, a sound system which accommodates ipods & MP3 players, books, CDs, games and deliberately no TV! It also has a balcony with magnificent views across the valley to the Montone hills.

Terra (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

Terra has a double bedroom with a large double bed and another smaller bedroom with 2 single beds. The bathroom has a shower over a full length bath, bidet, basin, toilet, shaver point and a hairdryer. A small utility room with a washing machine, dryer and sink, is adjacent to the bathroom. All the kitchen equipment is new: a large fridge/freezer, superb convection oven with a grill and gas hob, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, pots & pans, cutlery, attractive crockery and lovely glassware - we think we've thought of everything you'll need! The sitting room has 2 comfortable leather sofas, a sound system which accommodates ipods & MP3 players, books, CDs games and deliberately no TV! It has patio doors leading onto the top terrace with views over the garden to the hills beyond.

Notes on accommodation
Sopra & Terra have gas-fired central heating systems so they are ideal for Spring and Autumn breaks. Being of solid stone construction, the apartments are cosy in the frost and snow of winter and cool in the heat of summer.
Sopra also has a wood burning stove in the kitchen - do ask about the possibility of a long let here over the winter. An Umbrian Christmas is one of life's enriching experiences and the apartments' proximity to Assisi puts this city's special kind of spirituality within easy reach.

Accessibility
The apartments are not ideal for people with serious mobility issues. Although the doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs, there are steps up and down within both apartments.
Handrails have been constructed on the external steps and slopes on the terraces and garden but this property is not ideal for guests with severe mobility problems.

Outside
All but the tiniest children, will enjoy running up and down the terraces to the pool where the massage jets (using recycled water from the saline pool) provide hours of innocent fun! The BBQ equipment and smart metal garden furniture is shared by visitors to Sopra & Terra.
Imagine lazing by the shared plunge pool (3m x 5m), having enjoyed an al fresco lunch, glancing up from your book at the swallows, swifts and other birds framed by the hills across the valley - bliss! The pool is heated only by the sun and is usually closed between October and May.

We can provide links to a variety of special interest activities such as painting or cookery which are available locally.

Travel
The nearest airport is Perugia, only 30 minutes away; Bologna Forli and Ancona are about an hour and a half to 2 hours drive. Pisa and Rome are a bit further: 2 to 3 hours drive.
Car hire is available at all these airports - all the major companies have an office at each.

Distances
Sopra & Terra are ideally situated for visiting Florence and Rome - both cities are more easily visited by train.
Perugia, Cortona, Assisi and Lake Trasimeno are all less than an hour's drive and all are well worth visiting.
Locally, there are several small towns within 10 to 15 minutes drive: Umbertide, Citta di Castello, Sansepolcro and the beautiful hill town of Montone.

Further details
Superb restaurants and good quality shops are easily reached. The nearest market town (Umbertide) has a large Co-op and a branch of Eurospin, as well as several smaller supermarkets, butchers and bakers. All the local towns of any size have outdoor markets; Umbertide's is held on Wednesday mornings.

Booking notes
Please contact the owners for a booking form. A deposit (usually £100) is required when you book and the balance is due 4 weeks before the start of your holiday.
In the unlikely event of a cancellation, it maybe possible to refund at least part of your deposit if another booking can be found. It's always worth asking if there have been any cancellations.
