The garden studio

Sambuco is a restored Convent, originally the Convent for the Abbey of Sant Ippolito, which once stood on the hill nearby. It has been lovingly restored by its current owners and now offers a gorgeous and comfortable garden studio with a mature garden and wonderful views across the whole mountain valley to Sarnano and the mountains of the Sibillini National Park. It is ideal for those who would like a relaxed walking holiday, or a cultural vacation, and is a perfect in-between spot both for the mountains with their lakes for swimming in the summer and for ski-ing in the winter. And, with the Adriatic Coast only 35 mins drive away. you can go south to the Abruzzo coastline or north to the magnificent Conero National Park with its high chalk cliffs and coved, deep blue waters. The medieval towns of Fermo, Loreto and Ascoli Piceno are only a drive away and Sarnano, the picturesque medieval Spa Town only 10 mins away.

Accommodation

Sambuco (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 5)
Two bedrooms, one with double bed (matrimonial) the other with three single beds. Charming old country style kitchen with all modern facilities, fridge, cooker, microwave oven etc. Bathroom. Lounge. Use of large garden outside wih sun-lounge beds and fantastic views.

Notes on accommodation
Full central heating for cooler months (extra tariff), the house is ideal for children as there is a safe garden to play in.

Outside
We have a large garden facing the mountains with wonderful walks below the house to the Sarnano valley. There is a large terrace with garden furniture for dining outside in the summer and a barbeque.

Coast/Beach
Beautiful Conero beaches (with their deep shelving coves and blue clear water and excellent fish restaurants) are one hour and a quarter away. The family beaches of Pedaso and Porto San Giorgio, with their lovely sands and beach facilties and games for children, just 40 mins drive.

Golf
Conero golf course is 50 mins away.

Skiing
Three ski resorts in Sibillini Mountains, 25 mins drive from Sambuco, mainly family ski-ing; more professional facilities further south at Gran Sasso - one and a half hours drive.

Special interest holidays
We can arrange trekking, horse -riding, quad biking, para-gliding.

Travel
Ancona airport one hour and a quarter. Pescara slightly more; both served by Ryan Air. Car hire available from both.

Distances
Amandola our local town is a 10 min drive, as is Sarnano.

Further details
Both the medieval towns of Amandola and Sarnano have restaurants, bars, banks, markets, supermarkets.
