The house lies above the village of Pigge (midway between Trevi and Spoleto) and offers stunning views across the valley to Montefalco beyond. Secluded nooks and shady corners abound and below the large terrace, from where sunsets can be watched over a glass of red wine, the new swimming pool (12 by 4 meters) waits among the olive trees, romantically approached by a curving flight of stone steps. All the rooms in the main part of the house and the guest room are light and spacious and have been tastefully furnished and decorated. Beyond the house there are paths and tracks leading in every direction and the surrounding woods and groves are full of wildlife. Excellent restaurants serving local food, supermarkets and small shops all lie within 15 minutes drive in the still unspoiled towns of Trevi and Spoleto (which Shelley called the 'most romantic town in Italy').

Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday, but some flexibility might be possible in the low season. Arrival after 3pm and no later than 8pm. Departure before 10am.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with kingsize bed in guest suite with separate outside entrance on ground floor. This room also has a fridge, comfortable chairs and an ensuite bathroom/wc. |

| Kitchen: | The very spacious, fully modernised kitchen/living room contains a cooker, 2 fridges, electric kettle and coffee maker. |

| Living Rooms: | The downstairs kitchen/living room has a long table at which to eat and a huge fireplace for open fires in the colder times of the year. |
| Other: | An upstairs lounge with a small television and DVD player provides access to the large terrace from where one can see the entire valley. |

Linen and towels are provided but guests should bring their own swimming towel. |
Notes on accommodation
Although gas and electricity are included in the rental price, use of the central heating (only needed in the winter months!) is not. Because the property has steep steps both inside and outside, it is not recommended for young children. The swimming pool also does not possess a shallow end (the uniform depth is 120cm).

Outside
Trees and shrubs surround the house. Outdoor tables, chairs and sun umbrellas are provided as well as a barbecue. By the pool on the tiled patio, there are also sun loungers and umbrellas. By the house there is also parking for 2 cars.
Coast/Beach
Closest beaches are on the Adriatic coast, just under two hour's drive away. We suggest Numana or Sirolo as the cleanest and prettiest.
Travel
Nearest airport (45 mins by car) is Perugia (Ryanair)
Ancona (Ryanair) 2 hours by car / train.
Rome Ciampino (Ryanair/EasyJet) 2 hours by car.
Rome Fiumicino (Many airlines) 2 and a half hours.
Trevi is on the main Rome - Ancona line and trains are regular and very economical; about an hour and a half to Rome, two and a half hours to Florence.
A car is essential for a stay in Casa Bellavista.
Distances
Trevi is 10 minutes away by car (30 minutes on foot through the olive groves); Montefalco, Foligno and Spoleto 15 mins by car.
Assisi and Spoleto are 20 mins drive away. Perugia 45 mins, Todi and Gubbio 1 hour and Orvieto 90 mins; Rome is 2 hours and Florence 2 and a half hours away by car.
Further details
There are tennis and riding facilities close by and in the valley below is a twenty mile cycle route (from Spoleto to Assisi). All necessary amenities are available in Trevi or Spoleto, including a large new shopping centre. Both Foligno and Spoleto have great clothes shops. Local restaurants serve exceptionally good traditional dishes, using the outstanding olive oil, truffles, celery and wild boar from the area. The wines from Montefalco are highly prized and the famous Sagrantino is unique to the region. There are fabulous walks in the mountains behind Trevi and through the neighbouring Valnerina, where rafting is also on offer.

An option on the house can be held for three days. Reservations are guaranteed after receipt of a non-refundable 30% deposit. The remaining balance must be paid 8 weeks before your holiday commences.
