The Blu di Prussia Cafe is on the piazza of the historic hilltop village of Laureana Cilento. It oozes character and charm and is truly one of a kind. It is an Aladdin's cave of period furniture, paintings, artifacts and offers a cosy and welcoming meeting place for locals and holidaymakers alike. The owner himself is an accomplished painter and also offers courses in the restoration of furniture upon request. There are 4 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms). 2 bedroom apartment (sleeps 2 to 6). 3 bedroom apartment (sleeps 2 to 8). You can try typical Cilento cuisine in the eclectic restaurant of cold meats, goats cheese and the famous mozzarella, pasta dishes, lamb, wild boar and delicious sweets and the local wines. It offers a good base from which to explore places such as Paestum, Rocca Cilento, Castellabate and the town of Agropoli with its sandy beaches is only a 15 minute drive away. It is an experience not to be missed!

Changeover day
Flexible subject to availability. Preferred changeover day is Saturday for the apartments.
Notes on accommodation
Restaurant & cafe/bar and gallery - On the ground level. Lunch or dinner can also be organised using local produce and traditional Cilento menu. Breakfast is included with all room and apartment rates
Continental breakfast consists of fresh rolls and croissants, homemade biscuits, fruit and juices.
Children are very welcome and no charge for room rate if under 10 years old.
Accessibility
All accommodation is located on the first floor using the stairs.
Outside
Blue Di Prussia is situated on the small quiet piazza Aldo Moro where tables and chairs are available to eat outside on the first level private balcony adjoining the communal living/salon room.
Coast/Beach
Beaches in Agropoli are a 15 minute drive with the bay at Trentova being particularly nice. The charming coastal town of Santa Maria di Castellabate is a 20 minute drive. The beaches are sandy and the sea has been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness. In the summer months of July and August small ferries can be taken from Agropoli and Santa Maria to Capri, the Amalfi coast and Palinuro. Out of these months ferries are available from Salerno also to Procida, Ischia and Naples.
Special interest holidays
The Blu di Prussia is a haven for artists and can also offer courses in painting and furniture restoration. The owner is himself an accomplished painter and artist and would be happy to discuss the courses on offer on request. Cycling and walking tours in the national park - can be organised with a local guide.
Travel
The nearest international airport is Capodichino on the outskirts of Naples and is 100km (approximately an hour and a half to Agropoli). From the UK British Airways and Easyjet fly here. In the holiday season also British Midlands and Thomsonfly. Car hire is available from the airport and also in Agropoli. There is also a railway station in Agropoli which can be accessed from Naples. Car hire is essential.
Distances
The famous Greek temples at Paestum is a 25 minute drive. The historic town of Agropoli is a 15 minute drive. Santa Maria di Castellabate and the medieval hilltop town of Castallabate is a 20 minute drive. The port and coastal village of Acciaroli (Hemingway's favourite holiday resort) is a 45 minute drive south. Palinuro is a 90 minute drive. Laureana Cilento is surrounded by other hilltop villages of Torchiara, Rocca Cilento, Vatolla, Rutino, Lustra are all 5-10 minutes drive.
Further details
The largest village where shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and bank can be found in Torchiara which is a 10 minute drive. Agropoli offers all the local amenities on a larger scale. There are many leisure activities available in the surrounding area of mountain biking, walking, horse riding, quad biking, water sports, organised tours, tennis, ferry trips, hiring of motor boats, and even helicopter rides!

DEPOSIT of 25% is required when booking and the balance is payable in full 28 days before the arrival date.

We have lived all over Italy and also Abroad. Laureana Cilento is the place we have chosen to express our individual passions and love of Italy. Blu di Prussia has evolved as unique holiday accommodation with a bar, restaurant, art gallery and antiques shop. Mimmo is an accomplished painter and restorer and creator of our beautiful establishment and home and dedicates most of his skill and passion to these things. The rest of the family - Teresa, Marta and Nonna take care of our guests, friends (who usually start out as guests) the restaurant and all other situations and events that arise daily in the South of Italy.

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
We love the Cilento area which is a Unesco World Heritage National Park. We are just a few km off the usual tourist routes in the mountains with a view to the sea and coastline of Agropoli, amidst an enchanting mix of culture, art, nature and folklore. Over the years we and all our guests have discovered the marvels of Laureana Cilento and it's coastline. Some of the most beautiful places in the world: Pompeii, Naples, Sorrento, Capri, Ischia, Positano and the Amalfi Coast are all within reach of a day trip from Blu Di Prussia. At night we get the chance to relax in this magic place where time has stopped and stress and chaos are unheard of.
