A delightful Palazzo on the quietest section of the Ortigia seafront. The specially designed and well-equipped apartments, part of a traditional nineteenth-century townhouse, face a small internal courtyard, the ‘cortiletto’, that serves as a recreation point. They have also access to a terrace with the sea view. Recently refitted and tastefully decorated, consist of living room, bedroom, independent bathroom with shower, cooking area. Air-conditioning, satellite TV and internet. Both are with independent access from the street: one has a sea view and is on the ground floor, the other is on 2 floors and has a small balcony with the sea view on the left hand side. At only a few meters from the building there is an open area leading down to the water’s edge that is open all day and offers immediate access to the limpid waters of the Ionian sea. The Historic Centre of Ortigia all around with buildings of great cultural value make Siracusa a favourite tourist destination.

The Sea View Apartment (Sleeps 2/4)

| The apartment (40mq) is on the ground floor. It has air conditioning, satellite television, living room with a sofa bed for 2 persons, a bathroom with shower, a kitchenette. In the living room there is a 15th century arch. The apartment has a shared courtyard and terrace with a stunning sea view and although the apartment has its own living room there is also a shared living room where there is a computer connected in internet. Breakfast is on request and it includes water ices, croissants, fruit tart, home-made jams, Sicilian sweets,ham and cheese. It is served on the terrace above, from which one can enjoy a vast wide-ranging view of the open sea. This is one of the very special features of our warm and sincere hospitality. | |
Notes on accommodation
Each apartment is independent, air conditioning and heating are provided. The 2 bathroom apartment has a fan on the first floor. Every apartment is furnished with satellite TV, linen and towels, cooking area, bathroom with wc and shower. Cot on request. Free luggage storage. Laundry and internet are also available. The cooking area is furnished with cookers, refrigerator and freezer, sink, kitchenware and pots.
Outside
There is a terrace furnished with a large parasol, with chairs and tables enjoying views to the sea.
Coast/Beach
At only a few meters from the building there is an open area leading down to the water’s edge that is open all day and offers immediate access to the limpid waters of the Ionian sea. The building is at 10 minutes walk to the nearest beach and at 15 minutes ferry service to the other side of the bay where there are more sandy beaches and many other famous bathing resorts within an hour drive. The nature reserve of Vendicari is about 45 minutes far.
Special interest holidays
Syracuse is known through the world for its mild climate, for the beauty of its panorama and for its ancient monument, above all the Greek Theatre where Greek Tragedies are enacted every year from May until the end of June.
Travel
Catania airport is approx. 45 minutes away by car or taxi. There is a bus service directly to Ortigia from the airport. Palermo is about three hours away by car. One of the delights of staying in Ortigia is exploring on foot. Sicily has a good public transport system to see the rest of the Island. Buses and trains are cheap and reliable or cars can be rented by the day.
