Trullo Papavero is a 6 cone trullo which has been beautifully restored. Set amongst 1.5 acres of olive grove in a truly panoramic position with superb views over to Ceglie Messapica and Cisternino. It is up in the hills above the village of Casalini in the hamlet of Specchia between Cisternino and Ostuni. The house is 10km from the nearest beaches and is 40 minutes from Brindisi airport and 65 minutes from Bari airport. There are plenty of super restaurants in the nearby towns and villages. There is a beautiful infinity swimming pool with a waterfall flowing into a ‘baby’ pool below. There are 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin, 1 bedroom with bunk beds plus a playroom with a single sofa bed in the main house plus a double sofa bed and en-suite bathroom in the ‘lamia’ which is situated 5 metres from the house next to the swimming pool. There are 2 cots, 2 highchairs and all the kit needed for young children plus 2 bikes.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds and include linen, towels (including beach towels), end of stay cleaning, and a mid week change of hand towels and tea towels, electricity and water. A welcome pack can be purchased for £40. Central heating will incur an additional cost as will additional cleaning.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time is from 2.30pm to 8pm and departure time is 10.30am.

Notes on accommodation
The house has central heating. All the bedrooms have fans.
The house is fully kitted out for children as we have young children ourselves and the pool is fenced off but there are some big drops around the pool and therefore you should be careful with young children.
Accessibility
The house does have rather a lot of steps and therefore not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Set in 1.5 acres of olive groves with fig, almond and prickly pear trees. There are beautiful terraces with great views. A large table and chairs seating 8 under a covered pergola is outside the sitting room door, plus a table for 4 and parasol in a courtyard outside the twin bedroom. There is another plastic table, chairs, sun loungers and 2 parasols around the private pool. The main swimming pool is an infinity pool 10m long and 8m wide at its widest point. It goes from 1m deep to 2m deep. At the deep end, water flows over a waterfall into a baby pool 2.5m below. The baby pool is crescent shaped and is 0.5 metres deep. The swimming pool is fenced off from the terraces and garden. There is a large lawn below the bottom swimming pool. There is a BBQ and a hammock between 2 olive trees and boules pit. The house is approached down a long grassy track with private parking with a car port for 2 cars and plenty of room for other cars.
Coast/Beach
10km from the nearest beaches - long sandy beaches as well as beaches in rocky inlets. The Pugliese coastline has long stretches of golden sandy beaches, dunes and wonderfully inviting seas. There are a number of good beaches to visit during your stay, all within easy reach. The nearest beaches are just 10km away from the house at Torre Canne, Pilone and Savelletri.
Golf
The nearest 18 hole golf course is San Domenico which is approximately 15km away (a 25 minute drive north) from the house near Fasano, between Bari and Brindisi. It is situated on the borders of the ancient city of Egnathia and the fishing port of Savelletri. The course itself was built in 2000 and is over 7000 yards long with a par of 72. A handicap certificate is required to play and green fees start from about 60 euros.
Special interest holidays
5 km away is a mountain biking excursion company called Nature Bike. You can hire bikes from them as well go on mountain biking excursions and explore the stunning landscape.
Travel
Brindisi airport (Ryanair) is 40 minutes drive away. Bari airport (BA, Alitalia and Ryanair) is 65 minutes drive away. Car hire is essential for this house.
Distances
Casalini village with 2 small supermarkets, butchers, greengrocers, newsagents, post office and cash point is 2km away and three very good restaurants. Cisternino is 7km away and the beautiful hill-top town of Ostuni is 15km away. Lecce is an hour's drive and is a stunning city.
Further details
Grotte Di Castellana:
These spectacular limestone caves, half an hour north from Cisternino, are Italy's longest natural subterranean network. The interlinked galleries contain incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations. The highlight however is the Grotta Bianca, an incredible cave of eerie white beauty.
Hill-top Towns:
The area surrounding Trullo Papavero is dotted with ancient hill-top towns, all with their own unique look and feel. Ostuni, known as the White City because of the proliferation of white-washed stone buildings, resembles a North African Arab Medina due to the seemingly disordered tangle of narrow cobblestone streets, many little more than arched stairways between the houses. Rising above it all in sombre brown stone is the beautiful 15th-century Gothic Cathedral.
Martina Franca has one of the finest old quarters in Puglia. Baroque balconies decorated with ornate wrought iron look down on narrow alleyways little changed in centuries. In the second half of July and early August, the town stages the annual Festival della Vale d'Itria - a feast for opera lovers.

You will be required to complete a booking form and pay a 30% deposit on booking with full payment due 2 months before the holiday. You will also be required to pay a security deposit of £300 before your holiday for damages which will be returned within one week of your return.

About the owner
We are young couple with 2 daughters aged 7 and 5 and we live in London for most of the year. However we escape to Trullo Papavero as often as we can with friends or family. Victoria is fluent in Italian having lived and worked in Italy which has really helped with us settling into the area.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought our trullo 7 years ago when we fell in love with the region. Victoria had lived in other parts of Italy and was desperate to have our own place out there. We found our house in dire need of some love and attention but in the most amazing location with stunning views and spent the next year renovating the whole house and putting in an infinity swimming pool and landscaping some of the 1.5 acres. We try to get out to the house as much as possible and our daughters love spending time out there.
Unique benefits of the property
It is really the setting of the property that we adore. It is so peaceful and we can really recharge our batteries. The children barely leave the pool and love exploring the land. The village of Casalini has everything you need including 3 super restaurants, butchers, bakers, grocers, post office, ATM, newsagent and numerous ice cream bars. It is very friendly and we have got to know many of the locals and are welcomed with open arms.
