Casa Gelsi (Mulberry House) is a beautiful recently restored traditional Marchegiano farmhouse. Stylishly furnished, spacious and peaceful it has high quality new and traditional furniture throughout. All rooms have fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, mountains and hilltop villages of Le Marche and include, four large and comfortable double bedrooms sleeping 8 (2 doubles /1 twin/1 twin that can be converted to a double). A large open-plan living room with open fire; a generously equipped fitted kitchen with new appliances, including dishwasher and large dining table seating eight; central heating and washing machine; games, TV and DVD player; two bathrooms (both with 'rain' shower). The house is ideally located for trips to the Sibillini mountains national park and the Adriatic coast as well as the regional towns of Macerata and Ascoli Piceno. The house is situated 3 minutes by car from the medieval walled town of Santa Vittoria in Matenano. 30 mins to nearest beach.

The living space and bedrooms have mountain views, wooden shutters and antique furniture. The house is set in over 14 acres of woodland and meadow which guests are free to explore. The woodland is renowned for mushrooms, (porcini and truffles) and is home to deer and other fauna. There are excellent walks leaving from outside the front door to the local village and surrounding area. Extensive garden, terrace, barbecue, parking and garden furniture. The local village is 3-4 minutes away by car. The nearest beach is 30 minutes away. There is a (covered) pool in the local village.
Coast/Beach
Excellent access to child friendly beaches along the Adriatic coast at S. Benedetto, Civitanova Marche and Porto S. Giorgio (30 - 50 minutes away).
Skiing
Skiing in Sibillini mountains approx 35 minutes away.
Travel
The nearest airports are Ancona (1.25 hours), Pescara (1.5 hours), Bologna (2.5 hours) or Rome (3 hours), which are accessible from the UK via British Airways, Easyjet and Ryanair direct from London airports and East Midlands. The house is situated close to the medieval walled town of Santa Vittoria in Matenano which has featured in several UK TV programmes about places in Italy. 3km away, the town has restaurants, butchers, bakers, fruit shop, hairdresser and supermarkets.
Distances
Monti Sibillini – a national park of outstanding natural beauty. The highest mountain is Monte Vettore (2,476 m). The vast upland plain, Piano Grande, is transformed into a 8km2 carpet of wild flowers in early summer. San Benedetto del Tronto - stretching 4 kilometres + along the side of the beach, there are two centres – the 14th century Torre dei Gualtieri and the seaside town with a broad sandy beach, tourist and sports facilities. Ascoli Piceno – this 2000 year old town has Roman bridges.
