There is also a handsome refectory-style 8 seater table for indoor dining and a well-furnished patio at the side of the house, conveniently close to the kitchen. The house is a perfect base for touring Tuscany and Umbria - it has good sealed road access, and the Siena-Perugia link, which puts many delightful destinations within easy reach, is less than 10 minutes from the house, yet cannot be seen or heard from the property. The interior of the property is in immaculate condition, filled with light, and thoughtfully furnished and equipped to ensure that guests want for nothing. The 3 bedrooms cater for up to 6 guests (one has a double bed and the others are prepared with either a king size bed or two singles, according to guests' preferences.

Outside
Casa Bellavista has a superb pool 12x6m and up to 2.6m deep, with Roman steps. Beside the pool is a large pergola with curtains to provide both shade and privacy. Guests have the use of 6 very comfortable sun beds and are even provided with sarongs and pool towels. The grounds are very well lit for night-time use, operated by a remote control.
Coast/Beach
Although Umbria does not have a coastline, Casa Bellavista is conveniently placed for water sports, beaches, ferry outings to islands because of the proximity of Lake Trasimeno.
Travel
Perugia is the nearest airport, half an hour away, served by Ryanair from London Stansted. Umbria's central location means that there is a good choice of arrival airports all within around 2 hours: Rome Fiumicino, Rome Ciampino, Pisa, Florence and Forli.
Distances
The hill town of Tuoro has shops, restaurants and services and is only three minutes away by car. Less than 10 minutes away, below the town, is the Siena-Perugia link for quick access to Passignano and Castiglione del Lago or onward to join the A1, the main north-south highway. Tuoro 10 mins. Mercatale and Lisciano Niccone 15 mins. Cortona 25 mins. Siena 90 mins. Perugia 30 mins. Assisi, Todi, Spoleto, Montepulciano, Gubbio, Pienza 90 mins. Rome and Florence are good day trips by train.
Further details
Tuoro has a friendly village centre, worth exploring on foot, with small food stores, bakery, butcher, bars and restaurants, a pharmacy, and a newsagent. The lower part of the town has a small supermarket and once a week there is an excellent outdoor produce market. The lakeside town of Castiglione del Lago has a very good larger supermarket.
