This beautiful and elegant country villa is located in one of the greenest areas of Umbria. With its hillside position the house has a spectacular view over the surrounding verdant countryside. A very special place to stay during your holiday in Italy! Recently this 'casa colonica' was fully restored respecting the original architecture. Oak beams, antique terracotta tiles and exposed stone walls create a rustic atmosphere while the high quality modern design for kitchen and sanitary offer all nowadays comfort. In front of the house is a secluded ‘piazza’ where you can enjoy the silence, the nice climate, the magnificent views over the valley and unforgettable sunsets. Le Fontanelle is situated only 2 km from the medieval town of Pietralunga, midway between Citta’di Castello and Gubbio. A perfect spot to discover Umbria, its beautiful landscape and famous cities. Moreover Tuscany and the Adriatic coast are not far away.

Changeover day
Only weekly rental from Saturday to Saturday (unless otherwise agreed upon). Arrival between 16.00 and 20.00 h. and check-out on day of departure before 10.00 h.

Notes on accommodation
The house keepers (a Dutch couple) live in the neighbourhood and will be happy to make you feel at home and to give you all the information you might need for a perfect holiday.
Outside
Surrounded by 3 ha. of private land. In front of the house is a secluded piazza. From the beautiful private pool (8 x 3 m) you have a fantastic view over the valley. There is wooden garden furniture and next to the pool is a covered terrace with comfortable sunbeds.

The Adriatic coast within 1 hour drive.

Several golf courses within 45 min. drive.
Skiing
Skiing facilities on a small scale within 45 min. drive.
Travel
Nearest airports: Perugia (35 min.), Forli (60 min.), Rimini, Ancona, Florence, Rome. A car is essential.
Distances
Pietralunga is on a distance of only 2km. Gubbio and Citta di Castello: 25 min drive. Perugia, Assisi, Arezzo, Cortona, Urbino within 1 hour.

Pietralunga offers all services: shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks etc. Lovers of culture can visit the famous cities like Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Todi etc.
Furthermore the location of this country villa offers possibility to make beautiful walks or to explore the surroundings by mountain bike. Horse riding, archery, tennis, fishing, trekking and ultra-light flying within 5 min. In late autumn and winter you can go on mushroom and truffle picking with a local guide and when there is snow the nearby Apenines offer wintersports on a small scale.
Booking notes
Reservations are considered valid after receipt of a down payment of 30%. The balance must be paid 6 weeks before arrival. Together with the balance payment a security deposit is requested of Euro 250 to be refunded in full within 2 weeks after departure, unless there are damages to be compensated.
Guest comments
Le Fontanelle is a lovely house: stunning views, luxurious surroundings and the peace and calm of the place was unbelievable. I can't think of a more idyllic place to spend a holiday.
We have had a fantastic 2 weeks and Le Fontanelle has provided us with the ideal base to explore as well as a briljant place to laze around in the gorgeous sunshine taking advantage of the stunning views and the lovely swimming pool.
It's been an amazing holiday and will definitely be recommending Le Fontanelle to friends and family.
