The Hotel Residence Paradiso, in Santa Maria di Castellabate, is situated in a magnificent position in the heart of the Cilento National Park, a green oasis of tranquillity right on the sea but near the village centre. The main building houses the hotel, restaurant and bar while the annex has 12 stone cottages (divided in 28 apartments) equipped for self-catering. Immersed in a sea of green, the hotel has a private beach, ample parking and each elegantly furnished room has a balcony with either sea or countryside view - the perfect spot to relax and de-stress. Santa Maria di Castellabate is a lovely and romantic village situated on the unspoilt Cilento Coast within the Cilento National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site. The coastline and water of Santa Maria were awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness and environmental awareness in 1999.

Notes on accommodation
The apartments are of different types, on different floors, some with terraces, some with balconies. We kindly ask you to provide us your special requests, such as lower or upper floor or others, upon reservation. Many apartments have got air-conditioning and satellite TV, ask by e-mail before renting. No pets allowed.
Outside
Outside you will find a private beach, plants, trees much greenery and outdoor space. In our structure you can find a very nice Mediterranean restaurant and an Italian bar. Private parking is included. By the beach you can walk to S. Maria or to S. Marco di Castellabate (10 minutes by foot), 2 little towns that are characteristic, interesting and full of Italian culture and tastes.
Coast/Beach
5m to the Pozzillo beach, is famous for the quality of its water which gives it the Blue Flag beach every year from 2003. The beach is sand and is private with beach umbrella, beach beds and chairs.

Excursions:
A car hiring is available in town and in just 30 minutes you can visit the magnificent Doric temples and the museum of Paestum along with the buffalo mozzarella farms. Velia is only 40 minutes away, it is known for its school of Greek philosophers, its medieval castle, 5th century BC Greek temple and amphitheatre which was once popular with wealthy Romans. Just one hour and half to get to the caves of Pertosa and Castelcivita known as far back as to be referred to by Seneca, have long galleries with extraordinary stalactites and stalagmites of different shapes and colours. The archaeological sites of Pompei, Ercolano, and Vesuvio are within easy reach in just 1 hour and half.

The legendary Amalfi coast, with towns such as Vietri Sul Mare famous for its ceramics, Ravello with its beautiful Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, Positano an elegant and picturesque resort with its white Mediterranean houses arrayed on the terraces are just one hour and half away from San Marco. The grandeur of the 14th century charterhouse of Padula, two hours inland from San Marco is well worth a visit. A short trip by hydrofoil or ferry from Sorrento or the Port of Salerno bring you to the enchanting island of Capri where you can discover the fabulous panoramas, the marvellous blue grotto and Roman history. Naples, the capital of Campania, rich in history with its many churches monuments, museums and renowned Capodimonte museum should not be missed. Caserta 2 hours from San Marco, the royal palace, built in 1752 is one of the masterpieces of Vanvitelli.
