Monestevole is an ancient hamlet, built originally in the late 1300s. Entirely restored with care by the owners divided in apartments that can accommodate from 2-8 people. It is a place full of energy where every angle brings beauty and inspiration. Situated on 30 hectares of land, including olive groves, forests, organic gardens and common areas (such as the swimming pool and outdoor wood-burning pizza oven). Monestevole is a paradise in the hidden hills of Italy where the nights are lit up only by the stars.

Notes on accommodation
Central heating for the colder season. When you arrive in Monestevole, the owners will give you the key to your apartment, there you will find a welcome basket with the essentials for the kitchen and the bath together with a booklet of useful information for your holiday in Umbria. Linens and towels are in the apartment.
Outside
Outside, on the ground floor of a little tower, there is a common washing machine, a dryer, an iron and an ironing board. At the end of the garden, near the vegetables garden where you can pick up fresh vegetables for your meals, there is a barbecue area with a wood burning oven where you can cook fresh bread in the morning and a wonderful pizza in the evening. Swimming pool: 4 pool chairs. 10,000 gallons of water. Low or high season - fun.
Special interest holidays
In the last couple years the workshop community has discovered Monestevole. We have hosted workshops on song writing, film, and yoga. Just 50m from the hamlet lies the newly built workshop common area. It is an enormous studio/loft space (converted from an old barn) with a breathtaking view of the hills. It is the ideal space to host groups looking for inspiration, nature and a touch of technology. Some upcoming workshops. The Songwriter's Workshop March 2008. Chris Difford (ex-Squeeze) will host his 3rd workshop here at Monestevole, and his 18th in 18 years. The fall workshop was such an success we are hosting it again this Spring. The week-long workshop is for 12 songwriters who will write and record the performances every night. Contact us for more information or to reserve a place for the workshop.
Travel
Monestevole is located in the centre of Italy, in Umbria, just over the border from Tuscany. Located in the hills above the 'High Tiber Valley', 7km from the market town of Umbertide, near the Tuscany border and the historic centers of Perugia, Cortona, Assisi and Gubbio; halfway between Roma and Firenze. The nearest airport is S. Egidio Airport in Perugia (30km from Monestevole). A car is essential.
