Guests who stay with us more than seven nights will receive a 10% discount.

Changeover day
No preferred day of arrival or departure. Guests are welcome to reserve for only one night, exclusive of the high tourist seasons.

La Chiusa

Two units are composed of two rooms, a living room with sofa (can convert to double bed) and bedroom with king-sized bed, as well as bathroom with shower. The third single-room unit offers a king-sized bed and bathroom with shower. Two apartments are composed of two rooms, a living room with sofa (also convertible to a double bed) and kitchenette as well as the bedroom with king-sized bed. Each kitchenette includes a table, small refridgerator, sink, stove-top, counter space, and all necessary kitchen and tableware. All bathrooms are equipped with towels, hair dryer, and first aid kit.

Notes on accommodation
All units have individual heating. Our family is always welcoming to families with children.

Accessibility
The two apartments are handicapped-accessible and are located on the ground level.

Outside
The salt water pool is 12 x 6 m and available during the warmer months, and is private for our overnight guests. A bbq and wood oven is available for guests' use on our terrace, and each of the two apartments has a small private patio.

Coast/Beach
While we are located nearly in the center of Italy, one can easily make a daytrip by car to either coast:
East Coast, 100 km to city of Fano (Marche), and
West Coast, 170 km to city of Grosseto (Tuscany).

Special interest holidays
Our resident culinary expert, Masha Rener, is happy to offer private cooking courses to guests of La Chiusa. Courses may last a single day, or, for the full school, four days. Cooking students will learn the Italian approach to natural and organic cooking with a mix of typical Umbrian recipes and other regional dishes. The course is arranged each day according to a set menu, and guests are invited to request favorite Italian dishes. Students will prepare pasta and gnocchi by hand, bread in our wood oven, and vegetables and desserts using ingredients fresh from our fields. At the end of each day students will sit down at the table to enjoy the foods they have prepared. During the four day school, Masha will lead students on a tour of our organic farm.
We also offer to our guests mountain-biking tours around the area and through the nearby incontaminated forests.

Travel
Nearest airport is located in Perugia and is 30 minutes away by car. Public transport is not available and we recommend that you hire a car during your stay.

Distances
Nearest town is Umbertide, 10 minutes by car. Historical Perugia is 40 minutes away by car or a 40 minute train ride directly from the station in Umbertide. Other places of interest, all within 30 minutes to one hour of driving distance:

Lago Trasimeno
Orvieto
Chianti
Montepulciano
Montefalco

Further details
Any necessary shops, hospitals, banks, etc are available in Umbertide only 10 minutes away.
