Casa Scrucchi is a beautifully restored old stone farmhouse, finished to a very high standard. For relaxing adults there is an extremely bright spacious living rom with 3 leather sofas, music centre and fireplace, whilst on another floor we have separate large family room with sofas, TV, DVD and video player. There is a very well equipped large farmhouse kitchen with American fridge/freezer (with ice making compartment), as well as a separate utility room. The house has 4 double bedrooms as well as a very comfortable double sofa bed in the TV room that makes a comfortable fifth bedroom. The house is set in 2 acres of land, with a large garden, 3 terraces, private swimming pool 15m long, and is about 400m from the nearest house. There is an outside pizza oven and kitchen, as well as an outside heated shower and WC. There is also an all-season full size table tennis table with it's own shaded patio area.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, although Wednesdays are also possible out of high season, allowing you to take advantage of cheaper midweek flights.

Accessibility
The house is situated on a steep-sided valley, so not suitable for those with mobility problems.
Outside
There are 3 separate patio areas, as well as one specifically for the ping pong table. Lots of outdoor furniture - tables, chairs, pool loungers, umbrellas etc.
The swimming pool is private and measures 15m x 5m, with an outside heated shower.
Two barbecues are available, as is a large pizza oven, ideal for all sorts of cooking.
There is also a small outside kitchen area as well as an outside WC.
Coast/Beach
The house is about 40 mins from the Adriatic coast. There is also a lake nearby in the national park, where swimming is permitted.
Golf
There is an 18 hole championship club at Conero, an hours drive away. The club also has a 9 hole course.
Skiing
The skiing area of Sassotetto just above Sarnano has recently been expanded to include a new chair lift. There are 3 red runs, 3 blue and 1 black. There is also a ski bus service from Sarnano to the base station. Numerous shops will hire equipment for the day or weekend.
Travel
The nearest airport is at Ancona, about 1.25 hours away.
Pescara is about 2 hours away.
Rimini is about 2.25 hours away.
Bologna/Forli is about 2.5 hours away.
Perugia (near Assissi) is 1.50 hours away over a beautiful mountain road.
Distances
The nearest village of San Ginesio, said to be one of the most beautiful in Italy is about a 10 minute drive from the house. Sarnano, a lovely old spa town is 20 minutes away, as is Urbisaglia, a walled town with extensive Roman ruins still remaining.
Further details
San Ginesio is small but very charming with 2 banks, numerous shops including 2 excellent butchers, supermarkets, bakers, bars and restaurants. There is also a fanstastic ice cream bar in the old square. There are numerous festivals which take place throughout the summer, including the San Ginesio pallio on 15 August, as well as a battle re-enactment on 29 July.
