Fresh cheese is delivered straight from the dairy twice a week. It has grocers, general stores, hairdressers, pharmacy, cash point etc. It has a purpose built amphitheatre which hosts a variety of entertainment. Tropea Stands on an imposing sand stone cliff and is one of the most artistically interesting and picturesque centres in the Vibo Valencia province. There are traces of ancient prehistoric settlements, burial passages dating back to Greek and Roman times. It is one of the best preserved and most beautiful historic centres in the whole region. Tropea is brimming with bars, restaurants and pizzerias spilling out onto the cobbled streets. Soak up the atmosphere of this wonderful place while enjoying a delicious meal of fresh pasta, fresh seafood, fresh local anti pasta or a pizza straight from the traditional pizza ovens or just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of the local wine, or one of the local liqueurs (I highly recommend the limoncello) The patisseries and ice cream are dangerously delicious. Tropea is famous for its reddish blue onions sweet and delicious and the olive oil is said to be the best in Italy. Enjoy the variety and flavour of Tropea market on Saturday mornings. Capo Vaticano. A 10 min drive out of Tropea southwards and in a moment you have access to another jewel in the Calabrian coast, with its warm crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, and pretty coves, well known for its scuba diving and snorkelling.
