Girasole Suite (Sleeps 4, 2 Bedrooms)

One of the most spacious and luxurious apartments is the Girasole apartment (also know as ‘suite’) on the third floor of the adjoining building to monastery. Double bedroom with antique wardrobe. Study or double bedroom with comfortable sofa bed. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, safe, satellite TV. You will love the new sumptuous spacious bathroom with massage shower. Views of the hills and to the sea from the bedrooms. Antique rugs in the hall and bedrooms.

Attico (Sleeps 2/4, Studio Apartment )

The Attico is accessed from the cloister and is on the second floor. It's a large studio apartment on two floors connected by a staircase. The entrance and bathroom are on the first floor. The second floor consists of a big room divided by large arch which includes the kitchen and double bed on one side and a double sofa bed on the other. A big and beautiful panoramic balcony with a view on the old historic centre. The kitchen is fully-equipped with electric stove, microwave, satellite TV, dishwasher and phone.

'A' Superior Apts x 2 (Sleeps 4/5, 2 Bedrooms)

The ‘A’ superior apartments are very bright and spacious and can sleep from 4/6 depending upon the one chosen (they are on first and second floors). No. 5 has a balcony with a view on the old centre, double bedroom and a bedroom with two single beds. No.21 is a very large 3 bedroom apartment (sleeps 6) ideal for big families, friends or couples. It consists of a large kitchen, bathroom and 2 separate bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two beds). Third bedroom with 2 beds. All apartments have electric stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, phone, satellite TV.

'A' Apts x 2 (Sleeps 2/4, 1 Bedroom)

The 'A' apartments (numbers 9 and 20) are spacious and furnished with new furniture. Double bedroom. Sofa bed in the living room. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, diswasher, satellite TV and phone.

Notes on accommodation
All apartments have air-conditioning are are suitable for children. Electricity is to be paid apart (rough costs about 15 to 20 euros per week in high summer. Heating is about 30 euros per week.

Outside
There is a communal garden where you can have your snacks or a drink.
10 minutes away is the thermal lake and spa resort of Venturina suitable for children and adults.

Coast/Beach
The stretch of coastline from Livorno to Piombino is known as the coast of the Etruscans because they settled there. 20 mins away is the Baratti Bay with its rocky bay and magnificent beaches. Five minutes from Baratti Bay is Populonia a fortress town from which you can enjoy a great view of the Bay and visit Etruscan necroplis. Follonica is a typical Italian family resort ideal for children with great sandy beaches, restaurants etc (26km). Cecina has a water park ideal for children 45 mins.

Casa Vacanze Il Chiostro is one minute on foot from the centre of the village of Suvereto where there are numerous great restaurants, bars etc. Much loved by Italian and Germans but relatively unknown to English and Americans travellers. Suvereto is known for its gastronomic traditions and many authentic reasonably priced restaurants are within 2 mins walking distance of the apartments (as are bars and grocery shop, post office, banks). During the summer this love of food is celebrated through many local festivals which are a delight to discover – a taste of the real Italy. Among the best is the medieval evening in mid-July – a torch-lit re-evocation of the middle ages with the population in period costume with the sumptuous medieval banquet served in the Cloister. Suvereto has also been awarded by Italian Touring Club the 'bandiera arancione' synonym of quality tourism and accommodation. Also voted one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in Italy. The stretch of coastline from Livorno to Piombino is known as the Coast of the Etruscans because they settled there and exploited the area's enormous agricultural and mineral resources. Nearby (20 mins) is Baratti Bay with its rocky bay and magnificent beach. From there in 5 mins drive to the famous archaeological site of Populonia. There are many long clean beaches with natural pine forests and even an enormous fun park (in Cecina). Suvereto is the gateway to the local regional park on the edge of the Val Cornia. The Valley is also a wine producing area and at the south end of a long series of ‘wine roads’ (la Strada del vino degli Etruschi) which follows the coast up to Livorno and includes various super-Tuscan wineries- as well as some gorgeous villages. The area is popular with cyclists thanks to its clean air quiet roads and hill breezes that moderate the heat in the summer. A day trip on the ferry from Piombino (25km drive) takes an hour and is a must - you can also visit Napolean's villa there.

Booking notes
Deposit of 30% by bank transfer on booking directly to casa vacanze il chiostro who will issue a receipt. The balance must be paid within 7 days of arrival by bank transfer same way. Check-in time from 4pm to 8pm and check-out time by 10am. Re cancellations - the deposit can be refunded (less expenses) if you need to cancel 60 days before arrival. From 29th to 8th day before arrival there will be a penalty to pay of 50% of stay. No refund if you cancel a week before booking.
