Set in the hills overlooking a beautiful Umbrian Valley, with uninterrupted views as far as Assisi, Casa San Gabriel is a collection of 4 farm cottages dating back to the 16th Century. Lovingly restored by the present owners, the cottages feature original beams, terracotta tiles and the latest technology giving ultimate comfort. Its position set among 3 acres of its own land and surrounded by olive groves and wooded hillsides, gives guests the utmost peace and tranquillity to relax and unwind and the opportunity to walk in the beautiful Umbrian countryside. There is accommodation for 10 in 3 totally independent cottages (2,4,4), all with private terraces, fully equipped kitchen, sitting / dining room, central heating and bathroom with shower. Only 5 kms from the main E45, but 1.5kms on a white road, means that the property is secluded but by no means remote with the nearby village of Pierantonio only 5 minutes drive and the local market town of Umbertide 10 minutes drive.

Prices shown are for the property(s) per week in Euros. Prices include all utilities, final cleaning, linen and towels, weekly linen change and clean and all taxes. There is an additional charge for heating, which is based on metered usage. Discounts are available for long term and Winter lets.

Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day, this is flexible but not in high season.
Departure before 10am and arrival after 4pm. This is flexible with prior arrangement and the communal room is available for use by guests outside these times.

La Stalla is a studio apartment with one double bed, fully equipped kitchen, living area and bathroom with shower.

The kitchen is equipped with 3 gas and 1 electric hobs, extractor fan, fridge freezer, compact grill and oven. In addition the kitchen has basic provisions such as tea, coffee, salt and pepper, olive oil and balsamic etc and breakfast is provided for the first day and a complimentary bottle of wine and beer to greet you on arrival.

The views from the original stable window and the private terrace are quite spectacular and ensures La Stalla provides a very romantic setting for any couple.

La Cantina is suitable for families or 1 or 2 couples. The lower level consists of a fully equipped kitchen and sitting/dining area with a double sofa bed (orthopaedic) and leads onto a private terrace. Glass enclosed, stairs take you to the top level, with a landing that leads onto a double bedroom (with either double or twin beds) and a separate bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is equipped with 3 gas and 1 electric hobs, extractor fan, fridge freezer, compact grill and oven. In addition the kitchen has basic provisions such as tea, coffee, salt and pepper, olive oil and balsamic etc and breakfast is provided for the first day and a complimentary bottle of wine and beer to greet you on arrival.
The terrace and bedroom have wonderful views down into the valley and provide you with the opportunity to finish the evening with a glass of wine and the beauty of Umbria in sight.

Il Fienile is perfect for families with the lower level consisting of a twin bunk bed room, with independent shower and bath room, living/dining area with double sofa bed and fully equipped kitchen and above is a mezzanine level double bedroom with either a double or twin beds.
The kitchen is equipped with smeg oven, extractor fan and smeg fridge freezer In addition the kitchen has basic provisions such as tea, coffee, salt and pepper, olive oil and balsamic etc and breakfast is provided for the first day and a complimentary bottle of wine and beer to greet you on arrival.
The main room leads onto a secluded terrace ensuring privacy but benefiting from beautiful views of the valley.

 

Notes on accommodation
All the cottages are fully central heated and are provided with hairdryers, stereo with CD and radio and wifi internet access. Each has its own terrace with pergolas, umbrellas and outdoor furniture. The following additional items are available for use, inclusive in the rental price: portable TV and video, microwave, child travel cot, child changing mat, child highchair, portable barbeque, golf clubs and picnic hampers. The main house has a communal room with a well stocked library. A separate laundry room is available for guests use, with washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Outside
There is approx 2 1/2 acres of gardens at Casa San Gabriel. This consists of a herb and vegetable garden that the guests are welcome to use. A communal barbeque area with outdoor seating and grass areas for relaxing and an acre of olive trees, oak trees and wild flowers. The 14.5 x 4.5m swimming pool is situated on a terrace, with sunbeds and umbrellas, at the top of the property with magnificent views across the valley. The south facing aspect, ensures the area takes advantage of the sun throughout the day and its elevated position often brings a cooling breeze for a welcome relief to the heat of the Summer. There is also a traditional, outdoor, woodburning bread oven and guests are encourages to try their hands at creating their own pizzas. There is a playground with slide, swing, sand pit and play house with many toys.
There is a small herd of beautiful Alpacas, and there are 2 pet boys called Paolo and Sylvester. The guests are welcome to help feed them and give them a cuddle.

Coast/Beach
Lake Trasimeno is approx 25 minutes drive, where there are a number of beaches around the shore and also on the 3 Islands on the lake.

Golf
Antognolla Golf Club is a 5 minutes drive from Casa San Gabriel. This features a stunning 18 hole championship golf course, with driving range, practice green, club house and bar. Reasonable rate green fees of €50 for 18 holes and €30 for 9 holes. Please contact us to make bookings for you. We have 2 sets of golf clubs available for your use and the golf club also has rental facitilies.

Cooking courses and wine tastings can be arranged for guests.

Travel
Car hire is essential. The distances to airports are approximately: Perugia - 25 mins, Bologna Forli - 100 mins, Bologna International - 150 mins, Ancona - 90 mins, Pisa - 140 mins, Rome Ciampino - 150 mins, Florence - 120 mins.

Distances
The nearest village, Pierantonio is 5 minutes drive and the local market town of Umbertide is 10 minutes drive.

Further details
The owners Chrissie and David live permanently on the property and are available to provide advice on car-hire, flights and local transport. They are also very willing to give advice on the best places to see and things to do, based on their own local knowledge and that passed on from other guests.
There is a non-smoking policy inside all properties.
Children are welcome. Pets are allowed with prior arrangement only.

Booking notes
30% deposit is required on booking and the remainder 6 weeks prior to the arrival date.
A €150 cash security deposit is required on arrival and refundable at the end of the booking, subject to any breakages or damage.
