Casa Mimosa is an exceptionally well presented, newly renovated Maiella stone villa in the heart of Abruzzo with stunning views of Gran Sasso, nestling in beautiful rural countryside, standing proudly above its own olive grove. This old farmhouse, steeped in history, has been renovated to a very high standard with outdoor solar shower, ceiling fans, air con, central heating, Sky TV, DVD and Nintendo Wii - in fact - every mod con! The 45 ft kitchen - with American fridge/freezer, 6 ring gas cooker, dishwasher and microwave, which was the original cowshed, has been painstakingly renovated to create a fabulous living space with an inviting woodburner at one end. Fully equipped laundry room. Snug sittingroom with another woodburner and Sky TV for those crisp winter days. The impressive 13.5m pool with diving board and large pool house with fullsize table tennis table and drinks fridge, just have to be seen!

Notes on accommodation
All bedrooms have ceiling fans and air-conditioning.
There are lots of books and board games for all the family plus a piano and a small electric keyboard for those occasional rainy days.
Enclosed veranda for the safety of small children ensuring peace of mind for parents - it is your responsibility to ensure that all 3 gates are shut.
Accessibility
Casa Mimosa's ground floor is on one level and has good access by car to the front door. There is a purpose built bathroom with facilities for those in wheelchairs close to bed 6/rec room. All downstairs doorways are wide and there is access to the pool area. One end of the pool has Roman steps into it.
Outside
The private 13.5 m pool has a diving board and a large pool house with table tennis. There is also a solar shower. The wide, shady veranda has tables and chairs for outside living and leads down to a huge terrace. There are portable barbeques for your use. A shady pergola has been added to the west side of the house to provide extra shade - perfect for early evening yoga.
Coast/Beach
The closest beaches of the Adriatic are 30 mins drive.
Silvi Marina has miles and miles of beautiful golden sand, fantastic restaurants and good facilities. For less developed areas go further north or south of Pescara to Roseto, Pineto or Vasto.
Golf
There are 2 golf courses within an hour's drive of Casa Mimosa.

Travel
Pescara airport (daily flights from Stansted during the summer months, 3 times/week during the winter), is 40 mins drive from Casa Mimosa. Ancona Airport is 1 hour 45 mins and Rome is just over 2 hours. Use of a car is essential. Driving from England is not prohibitive - 2 days with a one night stop over.
Distances
The closest town is Castiglione Messer Raimondo - a medieval hill top town. Atri and Penne are a short distance away - both have beautiful historic churches, piazzas, market days aswell as supermarkets, banks etc.
The National parks are a short drive away - visit the amazing Grotte di stiffe - caves with waterfalls etc, lakes and wildlife sanctuaries.
Further details
The closest village shop for fresh bread, milk, veg etc is 2 mins away. There are 2 supermarkets within 5 mins drive and 2 hypermarkets 35 mins drive. The local award winning winery is 7 mins drive and must not be missed! There is a bank and ATM in the village of Piane - 7 mins drive. There are many restaurants, pizzerias and the best ice cream bar in the area within 10 mins drive.
Booking notes
A booking form will be e mailed following an enquiry which must be returned within 7 days with a 25% deposit to secure a booking. The final payment is required 8 weeks before the rental is due to start with a security deposit of £500 (refunded within 14 days of the end of the rental assuming there is no damage to the house or its contents). Wedding groups welcomed - please contact owner for a chat.

About the owner
We are Jane and Sophie. Sophie lives in Hampshire and Jane in Wiltshire with lots of teenagers between them! Jane was a music teacher and Sophie, a photographer but now we enjoy running Casa Mimosa and Casa Toti as holiday lets as well as organising and catering for 4 or 5 yoga weeks each year. We are very excited about our new boutique wedding business at Casa Mimosa - such a fantastic venue for up to 70 people. Contact us for all the details!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought Casa Mimosa in 2005 with the aim to create a holiday home for 2 or 3 families to holiday together. We both have teenagers and wanted our teenagers to enjoy holidaying with us for as long as possible but knew this wasn't going to happen unless we could provide the perfect environment for them and their friends as well as us and our friends. Casa Mimosa has now done this for 4 years. We are both passionate about Casa Mimosa and the local area. We will never tire of the stunning views, the mountains, the beaches, the charming locals and of course, the local wines! Abruzzo is still one of the least known parts of Italy - and shouldn't be. Come to Casa Mimosa and experience a wonderful part of Italy!
Unique benefits of the property
Casa Mimosa has all mod cons and can cope with groups of up to 18 people. We have 2 cots, stair gate and 2 highchairs for the youngest members of the party, DVDs, games and books for children, wii, table tennis, diving board and DVDs for teenagers and lots of different areas for the adults to escape to! The whole ground floor is totally accessible for wheelchair users. We aimed to cater for everyone.Casa Mimosa has the most stunning views in the area. We welcome small wedding parties. The house can be used for a party of up to 50 people as long as you contact us first. The terrace is perfect for an outside party but there is also space inside to seat 50.
