Accessibility
Due to steep access the property is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with severe mobility problems.

Outside
The terraced garden surrounding the house is an area of 7500sqm and is very private. It is a mixture of wild and cultivated flowers and trees (sweet chestnut, cherry, apple, acacia, Cypresses and fig). On the south facing patio, from which there are marvellous views down the Lima valley, is a large barbeque, table and chairs with parasol and a relaxing swing chair. Another table and more chairs are provided under the Gazebo and around the pool. A small private swimming pool (7.2x3.6m) is available for use from May – September.

Coast/Beach
The coastal resorts of Viareggio and Versilia are less than an hour's drive away.

Skiing
Skiiing available in winter at Abetone, a 40 min drive away. Ski lifts are open in summer for trips up the mountain.

Travel
The nearest airport is Pisa a 45 min drive away. Pisa is served by low-cost carriers Ryanair, Jet 2, Thomsonfly, 1st Choice as well as BA and Brittania. They offer flights from Gatwick, Stanstead, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds/Bradford, Liverpool, Newcastle, Coventry, Bournemouth and East Midlands. Ryanair also fly from Brussels, Eindhoven, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Barcelona and Sardinia to Pisa. There is also an airport in Florence which offers more destinations but it's a longer drive.

Distances
The villa’s location provides easy access to the local medieval villages and National Parks. The nearest town is the spa town of Bagni Di Lucca, and the impressive walled City of Lucca is only a 30 min drive away. The A1/A2 motorways provide easy access to Pisa (1 hour), Florence (2 hours) and the city of Siena, town of San Gimignano and the Chianti region (2.5 hours). For motor sport fans the town of Maranello (the home of Ferrari) is a scenic 2.5 hour drive.

Further details
The Spa town of Bagni di Lucca is 2km from the villa. It offers many restaurants, bars, small shops and boutiques and also a supermarket. The Spa offers a variety of treatments at reasonable prices to help you relax and unwind. There are many local restaurants - not surprising in an area famed for it's gastronomy. The nearest restaurant is at the house at the bottom of the road. A small family run place serving very good typical Tuscan dishes from local produce. The most popular with our guests has always been the Antico café Del Sonno which offers a very good choice of classic Italian and regional dishes. This is located in Bagni di Lucca. The bar and pizzeria 'I Folletti' is on the main road into Bagni di Lucca and offers a huge selection of pizzas and foccacias. The restaurant of Villa Aurora is located on the road to Casabasciana, in a rural location, they offer a large range of home made Italian dishes and during the summer you can eat outside on the terrace. One restaurant in town rated by Michelin is the Corona where it is possible to enjoy top quality cuisine served in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the river. There are two excellent restaurants in the small town of Ponte a Moriano The Locanda di Sesto has good food at reasonable prices and Ristorante La Mora has one Michelin rosette.

The deposit is 20% of total with balance being due 8 weeks prior to departure.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful villa you must be very proud of it. It is the best place we have stayed in for quite a time. It’s nice to be on our own and not to have to share the area with others. The boys loved the pool!

We’ve had a great 2 weeks holiday, can’t wait to come back! The idyllic location of the villa is matched by the style and charm of the villa itself. We didn’t eat out as much as most (the barbeque delivers delicious char grilled garlic chicken) however we would recommend Café del Sonno in Bagni-probably the best ever macaroni with fungi there is!

This is our third stay at Villa Joba and it is as wonderful as ever! We have enjoyed a lovely lazy week in beautiful weather actually doing very little and feeling totally relaxed.
