A unique opportunity to experience the expat lifestyle while holidaying in Puglia. Casa Mare is owned by English residents, Bob and Debbie Lane, who are now making their spacious, well-equipped home exclusively available for just a few weeks each year. Benefitting from beach location, 12m x 6m solar heated swimming pool, external hot tub, air conditioning, Wi-fi internet and all the comforts of home (including 5 cats) all in the heart of Puglia. Fresh seasonal produce including asparagus, artichokes, peaches, strawberries and of course tomatoes, salad and herbs are freely available from our gardens. The Puglia Chef is on hand too, to provide catered meals - traditional Pugliese style - if required (additional costs apply).

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. We intend only to book a maximum of six weeks between 1st May and 30th September in any year.

Accessibility
The villa is on one floor, there are external steps up to the outside veranda.
Outside
Lawn and borders to the front of the villa, swimming pool to the right as you look out from the veranda. The pool is surrounded by patios and garden recliners, patio tables and chairs are available. The 12m x 6m pool is shared only with the owners Bob and Debbie Lane, who promise not to be intrusive! The pool is heated by solar panels and has a solar bubble cover to help retain heat at night, making it available from April to November - year round for the hardy! There is an outside bar near the pool with fridge for cool drinks all day long.
To the rear of the pool there is a bourganvilla covered gazebo housing a full size hot springs hot tub. Relax with a glass of wine and star-gaze in the soft summer nights. The property is enclosed by walls all around and accessed via double gates. Venture out of the gates and you will see the Adriactic Sea just 30 yards away. The beach here is sandy, small and uncommercialised.
Coast/Beach
Casa Mare is situated in an unspoilt beach; literally 2 minutes walk from the beach. There are many other beaches north and south within easy driving distance, some commercialised some not.
Golf
Golf is available at the Acaya Golf Club 30 mins drive.
Special interest holidays
Various activities are available in the area - scuba-diving, snorkelling, nature walks, bicycle trekking etc.
Travel
Brindisi is the nearest airport, 30 mins drive. Bari airport is 1 and half hours drive. RyanAir fly from Stansted to Brindisi and Bari, British Airways fly from Gatwick to Bari in the summer season. Al Italia fly into Brindisi via main Italian airports. Blu-Express offer cheap flights from Rome to Bari. Car hire is essential.
Distances
Lecce, the Florence of the South, is 17km from Casa Mare. We are also near to the Port of Brindisi. The historic centres of Ostuni, San Vito dei Normanni, Cisternino, Ceglie and others are all within an easy drive. Fasano Zoo Safari is 45 mins drive away and Alberobello, home of the Trulli is 1 hour drive away. The historic port of Otranto, Gallipoli and and many other beautiful towns/cities are within one hour's drive. There is a Water Park near Gallipoli.
Further details
Lendinuso is walking distance and has a wonderful bakery/corner store open all year and a great butchers (seasonal) as well as markets, gelateria, pizzeria and other entertainment in the season. Torre San Genarro is also close by, half an hours walk or 5 minutes by car and often has live entertainment in the season. There is also a small supermarket, bakery, cafe-bars, ristorante and beaches. Torchiarolo and Squinzano are both close by and have supermarkets, butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, post office, bank and hairdressers. Also some great restaurants and cafe-bars. Large hypermarkets, Auchan and Carrefour, within 20 minutes drive.

25% deposit required to secure your booking with the balance payable 12 weeks before holiday start date. £250 security deposit payable in advance, we will accept and hold UK pounds cheques, which will be returned to you after your holiday.
