Changeover day
In high season, weekly stays from Saturday to Saturday.
Arrival time from 5.00 - 8.00pm. Departure time from 8.00 - 10.00am. Any change should be arranged privately with the owner.

Villa "Il Vecchio Leccio" (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 9)

Villa 'Il Vecchio Leccio' is a 2 level portion of a farmhouse, from ground floor to rooftop. The house preserves original features as terracotta floors, beamed ceiling and stonewalls. On the ground floor is 1 bedroom with 1 extra bed available, 1 bathroom with shower/bathtub and 1 fully equipped kitchen opening to the garden area. The kitchen has an extendable table and capacious extractable drawers and can fit all guests dining together. On the first floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and shower; 1 double bedroom with 1 extra bunk bed in it (2 single beds) and own en-suite bathroom with shower; and 1 fully equipped kitchen with marble top sink and authentic cotto tiles, fireplace and 1 table with 6 chairs. The 2 floors are connected by an internal marble staircase that leads to the entrance door passing by a bright hall with original wrought iron sofa. Around the house, there is a fenced garden area with swimming pool, deckchairs, barbecue, tables and chairs.

Apartment "Papavero" (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 3)

On the ground floor of the farmhouse with direct access to garden and swimming pool. The apartment is 45sq.m wide and is all terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. It also has stone walls and an original stone manger in the bedroom, as in the past, the ground floor of the house was used as a horse stall (there's still a horse riding school with stall near the house). Other features connecting to the horses are scattered all around, such as horse hoofs and iron rings on the walls to tie the animals. The bedroom has 1 double bed (matrimonial mattress), 2 night tables, dresser, wardrobe. Space for extra single roll away bed. Bathroom with a shower/bathtub, bidet, wc and basin with big mirror. Fully equipped kitchen with extendible table, chairs and capacious extractable drawers. Built in inox sink, 4 ring electric stove, oven, fridge/freezer, kettle, espresso maker pot. The kitchen has a French door opening to the garden and is suitable to prepare and serve drinks/meals in the garden.

Apartment "Lavanda" (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6)

Independent apartment on the first floor of the building, with internal marble staircase leading to the ground floor and main, private entrance with independent access to the garden area with swimming pool and facilities. The apartment is about 67sq.m wide and has 2 bedrooms with 1 double bed each and 1 with extra bunk bed (2 single beds). The rooms have wardrobe, night table and country style sink with mirror and shelves on a corner. En-suite bathrooms in each room, with wc and shower. Kitchen with old marble top sink and original cotto tiles fireplace, table with 6 chairs, tall fridge/freezer, electric oven with 4 ring stove, kettle, espresso maker pot. Excellent supply of dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans. At the ground floor, in the entrance room, charming wrought iron sofa bed with cushions.

Notes on accommodation
Prices are for week and include water, electricity, bed linen, kitchen towels, bath towels, use of parking, garden, swimming pool (out of ground type, 5X4 mtr.).
Final cleaning charge 15,00 euros per person.
Heating to be paid extra.
Electric fans provided free of charge.
Air conditioning available with extra charge.

Outside
The garden around the house is all fenced and is scattered with sets of tables and chairs in wood/forged iron and in wrought iron. A barbecue is available for guests as well as a swimming pool with deckchairs to lay in the sun. Parking place available and guaranteed, in the garden or outside the property in the private street along the house wall enclosure.

Coast/Beach
The Tuscan coast are 1 hour and half drive.
The best and nearest coasts are the ones in south Tuscany, from Follonica to Monte Argentario.

Golf
At the cross of 4 different golf courses (Ugolino, Castelfalfi, Le Pavoniere, Poggio dei Medici) all within the radius of 50km.
The nearest one, Castelfalfi 18-hole, is 20km away.

Special interest holidays
Private tailor-made cooking lessons are available (half-day, all day with stop at local market to first by vegetables and meat, etc...) for groups or individuals. Manège with riding school, only 2 minutes from the house. Wine tasting and oil tasting available by local farms and castle with guided tours of cellar and banquets with tasting of local products.
Trekking and mountain bikes guided tours. Daily sightseeing in main cities with foreigner language speaking guide.
Shopping coache tour visit to Gucci and Prada outlet.

Distances
The nearest village is Certaldo (4km) with shops, banks, supermarkets, train station and other facilities.
San Gimignano is 12km, Florence and Siena 30km, Lucca 50km and Pisa 60km.

Further details
Certaldo Alto, the red brick medieval part of the village, is full of characteristic shops that sell handicraft and local products, grocery stores, souvenirs and wine stores.
Weekly market with local products on Wednesday in the downtown part of the village, where there are shops, pharmacies, banks, supermarkets, train station and other facilities as recreational or sport ones (Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts, haunting spots, fishing lakes, jogging and mountain bike park).
In mid July the folkloristic festival of popular theatre and street bands takes place in Certaldo Alto.
In October, in Certaldo alto "Boccaccesca", the biological and traditional food and wine fair.
Along the year, there are many other fairs and special markets that we'll be glad to recommend you.

Guest comments
We spent a wonderful time at "Il Vecchio Leccio", the location is really perfect for visiting Tuscany and in particular Chianti country, Firenze, Siena, San Gimignano and many other beautiful towns and villages. The property is very nicely situated in a quiet area on the top of a Tuscany hill with a wonderful view. Our teenage children appreciated very much a refreshing jump into the swimming pool. The garden is beautiful with plenty of flowers and well organised with shadowing trees and sunny places. We also enjoyed to stay outside after dark thanks to the garden lamps.
The house is spacious and charming. The rooms are well furnished and nicely decorated.. The kitchen equipments are all new and very functional, the pieces of furniture are well adapted to the old farmhouse style.
Last, but not least, Caterina and Alexander are very welcoming hosts and they really cared about making our stay pleasant.
We will come back and surely recommend it to our friends.
