Once shepherd dwellings, both the houses retain their original country charm, with steep wooden staircases, cosy bedrooms, exposed wooden beams (low in parts) and terra cotta floors. Tana del Lupo has an open fireplace, Casa Dante has an antique wood burning stove. You'll find these properties are very conveniently located, just 15 minutes outside Lucca and providing an excellent base for those wanting a restful break combined with some splendid sightseeing. The local village, 4 km away, has a good selection of shops and restaurants and a small weekly street market. Lucca is an attractive walled city of enormous character and charm. It is a fascinating mix of atmospheric squares, churches, cobbled pedestrian streets, wonderful shops and delicious restaurants. From here its easy to visit Florence, Pisa, Siena, the beaches of the Tuscan coast and the colourful fishing villages of the Cinque Terre.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros.
We will consider flexible arrival dates and short breaks when possible, so please contact us if you have any requests. Special prices for longer periods of three weeks and over.
Changeover day
In high season the changeover day is Saturday. However in low season and in some parts of mid season we are happy to be flexible if we can. We will also accept shorter stays but do prefer a minimum of 3 nights stay, but feel free to contact us to discuss.

Ground floor: fitted kitchen/living/dining room with dishwasher, oven with 4 rings, large fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster. Living area has open fireplace. Doors to terrace equipped for alfresco dining.
First floor: 1 double bedroom. 2 shower/WC.
2nd floor: 2 bedrooms, one large attic double with single sofa bed, 1 twin, both reached by separate steep wooden staircases.
Shared washing machine. BBQ.
The property is reached by steps from the parking area above the house. Unsuitable for those with walking difficulties. Parents of small children should be aware that the property has steep terraced land around.

The kitchen has built in oven with 4 rings, microwave, toaster, large fridge/freezer, toaster, dishwasher. 2 doors lead to the terrace, equipped for alfresco dining. There is a second covered terraced at the side of the property, which is reached by wide shallow steps leading from the parking area above the house.

Notes on accommodation
Both properties have central heating (payable locally). Tana del Lupo central heating is 15 euro a day, Casa Dante is 10 euro a day. There is a shared washing machine. Due to the steps and stairs the properties are not considered suitable for those with walking difficulties. Parents should be aware that there is steep terraced land in front of the property. Both properties have a 200 euro breakage deposit (payable locally).
Accessibility
Due to steps and stairs the properties are not considered suitable for those with walking difficulties. Access to the property is steep and the last 50 metres are untarmaced and rather bumpy. Guests usually have no difficulty but the car can be left at the church just below the property if you wish. The owner is always happy to help with baggage etc if that is the case.
Outside
The properties share a long wide terrace - there is plenty of privacy for both houses, and Casa Dante has a second covered terrace at the side of the house. Both properties have a BBQ, and are equipped with sun umbrellas and facilities for alfresco dining. The shared pool is set on a plateau cut into the hillside with lovely views over the valley below (9.20m x 4.6 m, l.20 m deep).
Coast/Beach
Viareggio and Lido di Camaiore are the nearest beaches, long and sandy and well served with restaurants, shops and bathing establishments. Allow 45 minutes to arrive by car.
Travel
The nearest airport is Pisa, 45 minutes drive. Florence and Genova are also good alternatives (1.15 hr and 2 hrs respectively). A car is necessary as the village is 3 km away.

Florence 60 km.
Pisa airport 30 km.
Ponte a Moriano 3 km.
Further details
The local village is reached in 5 minutes by car. It has 2 banks, 4 bars, a grocery shop, 4 restaurants (with another 2 excellent restaurants a further 5 minutes drive away), a chemist, 2 butchers. There is a very good hypermarket 2 km from the village on the road to Lucca.
Booking notes
Please email us for availability. We are happy to give you as much information as possible about the houses and the area, either by email or phone. If you decide to reserve one of our houses then we will hold it for you for 7 days. We require 30% deposit within that time and the balance is due 6 weeks before arrival. Depending on where you come from we can arrange for you to pay either in euro or in sterling.
