This amazing place is located only a few miles from some of the major central Italian art cities such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Orvieto, Assisi, Spoleto etc and features 7 large, bright, comfortable bedrooms all en-suite, a fully furnished kitchen/dining area and a beautiful lounge, great antique and craft furniture and decor, timber ceilings, cotto floors, open fireplaces and more.

The changeover day (June to September) is Saturday. Rest of the year we are flexible.

Notes on accommodation
San Francesco sits on top of a hill and is surrounded by several acres of farmland. There we grow organic corn, beans, grain and olives, make pure extra-virgin olive oil and also breed horses, donkeys and Maremmana cattle. Within the boundaries of the property the remains of an Etruscan village, Acquarossa, 5th century BC, are interspersed with some Etruscan tumbs and grottoes and can be seen as they were excavated by King Gustav Adolf of Sweden back in the 60s and 70s. A dramatic view over the valley with several streams surrounding the entire property and the Roman city of Ferento with the Cimini mountains in the background complete San Francesco's gorgeous landscape, most likely the best one you have enjoyed in your life. Obviously this is Tuscia!
Outside
Thanks to a large, shady yard featuring a barbecue, a large, brand new swimming pool, a vine trellis, a bread and pizza baking oven, chairs and tables and plenty of room both outside and inside our guests can enjoy al fresco dining, fun and relax at their best. Quiet and pastoral atmosphere, wonderful walking trails and a wide variety of interesting locations featuring art, antique stores, typical markets, wineries and excellent restaurants in the premises make of San Francesco the ideal headquarters to thoroughly explore one of the most interesting and fascinating regions of Italy.

The nearest beach (Tyrrhenian seashore) is about 45 kms. Very clean, Etruscan shore.
Golf
The Viterbo Golf Club is only about 8 kms away.

Nearest airport: Rome at 92 kilometres.
Nearest motorway: Viterbo at 6 kilometres.
Nearest railway station: Viterbo at 6 kilometres.
A car is highly recommended.
Distances
San Francesco is located 6 kms. north of Viterbo on the Teverina road and is conveniently accessible from the A1 highway, exit Orte, and the Viterbo speedway. Very close to Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto, Todi, Lake Bolsena, Lake Trasimeno and very convenient to Siena, Florence, Arezzo and all Tuscany. The closest shore (Tarquinia) is only half an hour away. Rome is at a stone's throw.

What a stunning house San Francesco is! We spend 2 marvellous weeks there in total relax and enjoyment for the beautiful environment, the food and the cities nearby - you can actually breathe history there. The property is gorgeous and so is its furniture, its outside, the pool and all the rest. We vouch for San Francesco 100% (Hans & Petra Holzbauer).
Great, amazingly beautiful place photos cannot really describe, with a special flavour and plenty of quiet and comfort. The countryside is probably the most beautiful one I have ever seen and the owners are great people. Will come back, definitely (Charles D. Montgomery).
