Sallegrotte is situated amongst green meadows and shady woods near the breathtaking town of Civita di Bagnoregio (between Orvieto and Viterbo, the very heart of Tuscia) and faces the suggestive, breathtaking view of Valle dei Calanchi. It consists of 2 independent (but not to be rented individually), well-furnished and very cozy units of different size comfortably sleeping a total of 16. The farm lays on 50 hectares of fodder cropping and olive groves, with selected rearing of “Chianina” breed and competition horses. Along with natural farming, we produce honey and a delicious extra-virgin olive oil. Several features such a very well-kept swimming pool, a large garden equipped with tables, chairs and a barbecue, so you can swim, relax, cook and eat outside, make of Sallegrotte one of the most comfortable, relaxing, ideal places to spend your holidays.

All 6 bedrooms feature 1 large double bed + 1 single and have private bathrooms. One with a baby cot. They all grant quiet, room, plenty of air and comfort. Choice linens and blankets are provided to make your stay an unforgettable one. |

8 bathrooms total. 6 are en-suite to the rooms (toilet + bath-shower + bidet), other 2 feature toilet + bidet only. Cleanliness is no. 1 priority here. |

The kitchen is large and features all possible cooking tools. A grill, a 4-ring stove range, a dishwasher, a fridge, a freezer, an oven, a microwave, a washing machine are provided along with many other appliances to make your stay the smoothest ever. |
| Living Rooms: |
Along with the very spacious kitchen, Sallegrotte features a living room and a very large dining/sitting room. There is a fireplace in front of which you can relax at your ease. A TV and a stereo are provided. |

The whole house has been decorated and furnished with extreme love, attention and zest. High respect has been paid to tradition - you live like in the old times here, everything is original and typical Italian. |

Cleaning, towels and linens are provided and included in the price. The house is being thoroughly cleaned before the arrival and after departure. Additional cleaning service is available on request (extra charge). |
Notes on accommodation
Sallegrotte is situated at approximately 500 meters on the sea level and is sheltered from excessive summer heat by the rich surrounding vegetation – plenty of flowers and scenty herbs in season. Both the house and the pool are independent and for individual use only. The property has been restored with extreme attention to the original structure and design and is now one of the prettiest properties in the area.
The main unit is on two floors and comfortably sleeps up to 12 people. The ground floor features a living room, a very large sitting/dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with a fireplace and a storage room, whereas the first floor is made of four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and a view over the valley and/or the garden.
Comfortably sleeping 4, the smaller unit is a two storey as well and features a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
Units cannot be rented individually.

Outside
Sallegrotte is surrounded by magnificent woods (wildlife such as deers, wild boars, porcupines etc. can be spotted at times) and features a large outside patio/terrace for al fresco dining, a bread-baking oven, a barbecue and much more. The swimming pool is large size (6m x 12m), totally private and overlooking one of the most breathtaking views in the area, the Calanchi Valley. Quiet, relax, fun and enjoyment are 100% granted at Sallegrotte!
Coast/Beach
At Sallegrotte your choice is between the lake (Bolsena, about 9 kms.) and the sea (Tyrrhenian, about 70 kms.). Both great and you can decide on the spot where to spend your day at the beach.
Golf
Golf course is in Viterbo, about 20 kms.
Travel
Although Rome is by far the best choice for Central Italy, the nearest airport is Perugia at 68 kilometres. The nearest motorway is Orvieto at 12 kilometres and so is the railway station. Obviously a car is highly recommended.
Distances
Sallegrotte is very well connected with the Milan-Bologna-Florence-Naples A1 highway (the backbone of Italy) and represents the starting point for naturalistic, historical and cultural itineraries to Umbria (Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, Spoleto and Perugia) at only 15 km. and Lazio and Tuscany, with Viterbo, Bolsena lake, Bomarzo, Villa Lante, Castel d'Asso, Tarquinia, Siena, Florence, Rome and the prettiest Tyrrhenian shores at a stone’s throw.

Activities and features in the premises are mountain biking/cycling, rafting, horseback riding, archery, archeology (several Etruscan and Roman sites in the nearby), windsurfing, vineyard and wine making farms, olive oil mills, tennis, hiking, spas, flea markets and antique shopping, more. You would not have enough time to see it all!

"This property is perfect for large groups looking for a relaxing stay away from the cities. It is kind of remote but close enough to shops, nature (Lago di Bolsena, Cascata delle Marmore) and within an hour drive from very nice cities (Orvieto, Todi, Siena,...). The house can comfortably accommodate up to 18 people. Each room has its own bathroom which is a major plus. Eating is possible inside and outside for the whole group. The swimming pool is well equipped. The park is magnificient with deers all around. For the equipment nothing essential was really missing. The owners are responsive and friendly. available."
