The ancient walled village of Poggio di Loro dates back to the 7th century. Situated on the slopes of Pratomagno in the beautiful Valdarno region of Tuscany at 630 metres, with its winding paved streets and stone houses fitted jigsaw-puzzle style inside the walls, the village has maintained its "once-upon-a-time" character. The 4km approach road lined with olive and grape terraces stops at Poggio which is cradled by chestnut wooded hills. Le Rondine is at the centre of the village. Outside stone steps wind up the the first floor entrance and sitting room, kitchen\dining room with large log fireplace, and charming twin bedroom. Internal stone steps lead up to master bedroom with mountain view, shower room\wc, small sitting room and delightful private roof terrace to enjoy alfresco eating looking out over weathered roof tops and the valley. A large utility\laundry room on the ground floor is approached by an internal wooden ladder-style staircase or by a separate outside door.

The village also has a football pitch and play area.

It is furnished with a wooden table, large white sun umbrella, 4 director chairs and candles for enjoying outdoor evening eating from where the stars in the undisturbed night sky are breathtakingly clear. Breakfast on the terrace in the fine mountain air with the swallows circling over the rooftops is a memorable way to start the day.
