Appartamento Carlotta is situated in the heart of Tremezzo on the western shores of Lake Como, better known as the Azalea Riveria. The apartment forms part of a 250 year old building which was originally the former inn of Tremezzo built in the heart of the town. A short stairway from the apartment leads you directly to the lakeside promenade perfectly positioned to enjoy the best features of Lake Como. Restaurants, bars and all local amenities are within steps as is a ferry point that takes you to all parts of the lake. Tremezzo is famous for Lake Como’s most exquisite landmark “Villa Carlotta”. Within a 5 minute walk from the apartment Villa Carlotta is a museum and art gallery occupying 14 acres of landscaped gardens and commands spectacular views of the lake. Tremezzo, due to its location on the Western shore captures the longest hours of sunshine during the day and remains as one of the international elite's favourite holiday destinations.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. We are able to arrange special itineraries with a private guide for tours of the important places to visit on the lake including villas, churches and day trips to Bergamo, Lake Maggiore, Venice, Milan and St Moritz. Please enquire for further details. For those staying in Winter we have special mountain trail excursions that can be arranged as part of your stay, please enquire for full details. We offer discounts for long term lettings.
Changeover day
The normal changeover day is Saturday but we may occasionally be able to offer alternative changeover days subject to availabililty.

Rental rates include heating, electricity towels and bed linen. Final cleaning bill of 50 Euros is payable locally. Additional midweek maid service is available on request. Weekly cleaning occurs on the Saturday for extended rentals. |
Notes on accommodation
Nestled on the sunny Western shore Tremezzo is one of Lake Como's main destinations. The gardens and art treasures of Villa Carlotta are within a 5 minute walk. Be sure to take a spring trip to see the spectacular display of Azaleas or listen to the outdoor concerts in Summer! The local mountains offer easy panoramic walks and we are exclusively able to arrange guided tours on request. Take the ferry to Bellagio for a splendid lunch and breathtaking views of both sides of the lake, Varenna for a visit to Villa Monastero and beyond to explore all the treasures the central lake region has to offer. Take a stroll down to Parco Mayer for a swim or just relax and soak up the sun on the beach and public gardens. Como town is just 30 minutes from the apartment and offers the splendid Duomo, relaxing squares and a wealth of shops and boutiques.

Accessibility
The apartment is reached by a stairway from the main promenade so is not suitable for the eldery or infirm and does not provide wheelchair access. However the promenade can alternatively be accessed by using the sloping pedestrian street which is convenient for those travelling with children and pushchairs.
Outside
There is no private outdoor space with the apartment but its close vicinity to Parco Mayer, a beach and public gardens allows you to picnic outside, swim in the clean waters of the Lake and soak up some sun! There is also a free public shower in use and a small bar serving snacks and drinks.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is less than 5 minute walk away and is situated amongst the public gardens where centuries old trees offer some comforting shade if the sun gets too hot!
Travel
The apartment is within 1 hour by car from Milan Malpensa airport and 1 hour 30 mins from Bergamo Orio al Serio or Milan Linate. Air providers flying to the Milan airports include British Airways, Alitalia, Ryanair, Easyjet, Air One, Lufthansa, Jet 2 and Fly BE. We offer our guests a free tailored travel itinerary specific to your preferred method of travel upon booking.
Distances
All major towns and villages are accessible by ferry, car or bus including Menaggio with its nearby hamlets and Lenno with the famous Villa del Balbianello both within 10 minutes. Cadenabbia, Griante, and Mezzegra are all within walking distance.
Further details
The apartment occupies the first floor of a carefully renovated 250 year old village inn and is reached via an intercom door at the front entrance. Each room faces the lake and has large double glazed windows with green shutters. The major benefit of the apartment is in its position. Perfectly placed to access bars, shops and restaurants whilst offering peace and quiet away from the main road. There is a specialist wine cellar just 50 metres from the apartment where you can buy wines, oils, marinades and specialist pasta along with fresh fruit and vegetables. The butcher also within 50 metres stocks all basic essentials along with a good cut of meat! The tourist office a 2 minute walk away offers advice and booking services for all lake transport and leisure activities, a great source of information ensuring that you get the best out of a stay here on the lake.
Booking notes
Rental Periods: rentals run from Saturday to Saturday, the apartment is available for occupation from 14.00 on day of arrival and check out is 11.00 on day of departure. Weekend rentals may be available at selected times. Making payment: On booking 50% is payable as confirmation, balance due 1 month before arrival. There is a secuirty deposit of £100 payable with the balance and returnable upon satisfactory inspection of the property. We accept payment in UK Pounds and Euros.
