In a small ancient village, a good central base, by car Florence 1 hour, Pisa 50 minutes, San Gimigniano 25 minutes, Siena 1 hour 10 minutes, Volterra 20 minutes. The seaside is 40 minutes. In the village there are 2 grocers, a restaurant, a bar, post office, bank, doctors surgery and tennis court. Other restaurants, supermarkets 10 minutes by car.

Special interest holidays
Once a year, usually in the month of July, a whole Tuscan village becomes a theatrical parterre, for presenting the Teatro del Silenzio (Theatre of Silence) which honorary chairman is Andrea Bocelli, the tenor born in Lajatico (7km from Orciatico) who took the Italian melody in the whole world. Teatro del Silenzio is not a place but an extraordinary one evening event, taking place in a village which design is so harmonious that it seems a theatre. The event each year features many well-known artists, authors, critics and musicians, who perform together with Andrea Bocelli. The concert will be held in the month of July 08.
