The house was an old ‘Metato’ built (typical place to dry chestnut frequently used in Garfagnana), disposed on two levels. On the main floor, there are two marvellous lounges with a stone chimney and a stove, the useful and complete kitchen and a spacious bathroom with shower. First floor with three comfortable bedrooms and another large bathroom. In 2001 the house was completely rebuilt with wood beams and terracotta floor with rustic surface, maintaining the typical country style of Garfagnana.

Notes on accommodation
If someone tell me that need air condition, probably he is crazy! Garfagnana is fresh and the air condition make no sense.

Accessibility
On the first floor there is all the needs for everybody, bath and bed are accessible to anyone.
Outside
A good terrace for dining with chairs, table ..etc, and a barbecue are useful for outside living. There is a municipal swimming pool in Gallicano.
Coast/Beach
The nearest coast is Versilia, about 40-50 Km of highway and you are on the famous beach of Forte di Marmi, Camaiore, Viareggio.
Skiing
No more of 45 mins and you are on Abetone, the main ski place of Tuscany!
Special interest holidays
The Garfagnana land is a place adapted for nature people lovers. Walking excursions and good food are the main activities! You can also rent bike.
Travel
Two main airports to reach Cardoso :
Pisa airport, where Ryanair make direct and low cost flights to England.
Florence airport.
From Pisa it is 70 Km to reach Cardoso (40 Km of highway)
From Florence it is 80 Km to reach Cardoso (60 Km of highway)
Distances
Barga is at only 5 Km (10 min by car). Catelnuovo Garfagnana is at 15 Km (20 min by car). Lucca 35 Km (30-35 min by car).
