Casa Pretoro is on the edge of Pretoro, an ancient mountain village, said to have Knights Templer connections (contact for website address). In the national park of Abruzzo where eagles soar and nature abounds, and there can be found rare flowers and plants. There is an abundance of marked walking, mountain biking and horse riding trails, and many sites of of historic interest, caves, hermitages etc. From the accommodation the sea can be reached in 25 mins. There are two family ski resorts 15 and 20 mins away from the accommodation. Details of ski resorts can be found on the Pretoro web site. We also have have at our disposal for the use of our guests a fully equiped fitness centre with pool, turkish baths, sauna and massage salon. Ski hire and skiing instruction at very reasonable price. Trips can be arranged, mountain guide,wine tasting courses or just plain wine tasting. The area is full of small market towns and villages each with their own charm and specialist crafts.

20 mins drive to Adriatic coast, glorious sandy beaches suitable for small children.
Golf
Miglianico golf course 20 mins approx drive.
Skiing
Our mountain is the Maielletta with 2 resorts. Passo Lanciano, 15 mins drive, with one chair lift and 2 ski lifts, 8km of ski runs.
Mamma Rosa: 20 mins drive, 7 ski lifts, 12km of ski runs.
Nordic skiing, 12km of trails. Ski passes are about half price of the northern resorts. We also have a young English speaking, fully qualified ski instructor. There is also an area for very young children. On both resorts there are very good bars and restaurants where you can have a good meal for just a few euros.
Travel
Pescara Airport 35 mins, Rome airport 2 hours, Ancona 90 minutes.
Distances
Pretoro is a few minutes walk away with shops, Chemist, Doctors surgery, and excellent restaurants. very good cheap food. In Abruzzo restaurants cater for the locals and love to cater for foreigners to show how good their food is, so there is no tourist restaurants with expensive menus.

Reservations can be made with a non-refundable 25% deposit. The balance must be received at least 14 days before arrival.
