A warm Italian & English welcome awaits you at Casa Valeria. We are situated in the countryside, about 3 km from the medieval village of Pigna. We have a large garden with about 40 olive trees, pizza oven and BBQ area. We offer a varied breakfast, which can be taken on the patio if required. In season there is home made jams, chutneys, and home produced extra virgin olive oil. Pigna is dominated by the 12th Century Church of San Michaele, with narrow cobbled streets. There are several shops, bars, restaurants, a Bank, Pharmacy and Post Office. There are two rivers, with small swimming pools and crystal clear waters. There is also a tennis court and a childrens playground. A very interesting museum can be found near the church. There is a bus service several times a day to the coast. The impressive Spa Hote Terme is nearby, where you can indulge in the latest beauty therapies - there is a large outdoor swimming pool.

B&B 'Casa Valeria'

The Peach Bedroom has a double bed with en-suite bathroom and magnificent views from the spacious terrace.
The Lilac Room is twin-bedded with its own balcony and en- suite bathroom.
Both rooms are furnished in pine, have central heating and television.

Notes on accommodation
We are able to supply a fold up bed in each room, suitable for an adult or a child. Also a cot.
Accessibility
Unfortunately the house is not suitable for people with mobility problems due to stairs.
Outside
There is a large garden, some of which is terraced, with about 40 olive trees. If, all you want to do is sit and relax under one of these trees with a bottle of wine, all day, this is fine!! The area around the house is flat, with a large patio, pizza oven and BBQ area.
Coast/Beach
The beautiful beaches of the Italian Riviera are 20km away, with the French Riviera being a further 15km away.
Golf
There is a beautiful golf course at San Remo, about 35 km.
Skiing
About 2 hour drive from the ski resort of Limone.
Special interest holidays
The area is a National Park, and is well known for the wonderful scenery, wildlife and unique wild flowers etc. Guided walks and wild mushroom foray (when in season) can be arranged. Also visits to surrounding mountain villages can be arranged.
There are many local Festivals, and in September, there is a Wild Mushroom Festival at the mountain village of Triora.
We have lots of leaflets and brochures giving up to date details of local events.
Travel
Nearest airport is Nice International Airport which takes between an hour and an hour and a half. If you are not travelling in your own car, we do recommend that you hire one. There are a few car hire offices at Nice airport, but you may find it would be better if you arranged this before you leave, and collect car on arrival. We can advise about other transport.
Distances
The fabulous Monte Carlo is 40 minutes away and the Italian town of San Remo is the same distance in the opposite direction. There are many fascinating mountain villages to explore.
Further details
The town of Pigna is 5 minutes by car. It has 3 grocery stores, a chemist, bank, post office, several bars and restaurants. It hosts a market in the piazza every saturday and has a museum of local artifacts. There is a magnificent church which is home to a famous frescoe painted by the artist Canavesio in 1500. There are beautiful natural swimming holes nearby and a spa hotel with a beautiful outdoor pool where you can indulge in the latest beauty therapies. Discounts are available for our customers.
