The house is located in a medieval village in a quiet position just off the small piazza where there is are two restaurants offering local cuisine. The area is surrounded by the Cilento National Park offering all year round natural beauty. Easy access to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius by car or train. Close to sandy beaches and restaurants.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible although saturday preferred. Arrival is after 16.00 and departure by 10.00.

Notes on accommodation
The kitchen has been completely refurbished in 2009. There is a new Franke hob, fitted oven, sink, taps and fitted dishwasher, together with new marble worktop and tiling. The furniture in the house is a blend of old and new, including new beds and bedding. There are wardrobes and chests of drawers in each bedroom.
Accessibility
Accommodation in on the first floor of the house with staircase up. Car parking is to the rear and there is a steep ramp into the garden. Accordingly it is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
Terrace with outside dining table and chairs. Sunbeds. Barbecue. Spacious garden and patio with olive and walnut trees.
Coast/Beach
The beach at the Bay of Trentova on the outskirts of Agropoli is about 15 mins by car. The sandy beaches at Santa Maria di Castellabate are approx 20 mins drive, San Marco approx 25 mins, and the stunning coastal drive to Acciaroli is approx 45 mins. There are boats from Agropoli in the summer months to Amalfi, Positano and the island of Capri. It is possible to hire motor boats from Agropoli marina for a half or whole day. Boat trips are also organised around the area.
Golf
There is a golf course approx 30 mins away.
Travel
The house is approx 110 km from Naples airport. Car hire is essential. Flights are available throughout the UK with Easyjet and British Airways. There is a mainline railway station at Agropoli where trains run direct to Herculaneum, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Naples. There are also connections to Rome.
Distances
The village of Laureana Cilento offers a small grocery shop, post office and two restaurants. San Martino is 2 mins drive and has 2 grocery shops, pharmacy, barber, 2 cafes and butcher. The famous Greek temples at Paestum are 25 mins drive and well worth a visit. Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius are but a train/90 min drive away. It is surrounded by many medieval villages to explore such as Vatolla where the Philosophy College is situated. Rocca Cilento with its own castle.
Further details
The closest local shop is a few minutes walk. San Martino village offer a small grocery shop and is only a few minutes drive. Torchiara/Sant Antuono is 5km away and offers all manner of small shops plus several restaurants in the old town and a take-away pizzeria in Sant Antuono (new part of town). Agropoli has many more shops, restaurants and cafes, there is also a castle in the old town and two restaurants overlooking the marina and the Amalfi coast.
For those who like to paint there are classes available next door at the Blu di Prussia cafe/restaurant by the acclaimed artist and owner, Mimmo Palombo. Paintings can also be bought. Furniture restoration courses are also available there. If its relaxing and unwinding you are in need of there are holistic treatments available with a UK qualified practitioner who practices from her farmhouse only 5 mins drive away. Cooking classes are also available locally on request. There are plenty of activities available such as scuba diving, snorkling, boat trips, pony trekking, quad biking, tennis courts, hiking, hiring of motor boats.
