Casa Gisella has been lovingly and traditionally restored by local craftsmen filling it with character right down to every detail; Chestnut wood is used throughout for beams, doors and shutters. Original stone areas both outside and inside. Terracotta tiles on the roofs. Ironwork for the railings. Gutters, drains and chimney in copper - everything has been done carefully and with high quality. It is furnished and appointed as a home should be, comfortably with modern conveniences yet sympathetic to the traditional design. The tastefully co-ordinated interiors add to the experience of luxury and comfort. The people in the village are friendly and welcoming and there is a real community feel. Staying at Casa Gisella allows you to experience a 'real' part of Italy in an area unspoilt by tourism. The restaurants serve delicious local produce the nearby shops sell beautiful local meats, cheeses and other specialities. A truly magical house in a truly magical place.

Notes on accommodation
The property has full gas central heating and a cosy wood burning stove. The house is set on 4 levels with many stairs both inside and outside the house. Parking is 50 yards from the house at the castle with a walk down a typically Italian narrow stepped street. Although not designed to be 'child-proof', we welcome children at Casa Gisella. Casa Gisella is a non-smoking property, both inside and on the terraces.

Accessibility
Due to the steps to get to the house and in the house Casa Gisella is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility.
Outside
2 private terraces provide stunning views and are perfect places to relax and enjoy the weather. The lower breakfast terrace has a small table and 2 chairs. The upper main terrace has furniture for dining for 6 with an parasol and 2 sun loungers.
Coast/Beach
The coast at up market Lerici can be reached in half an hour by car. Small but picturesque beaches provide a perfect spot to study the boats of the rich and famous. The long wide beaches of Tuscany at Versilia can easily be reached in 40 mins by car. And why not visit the exclusive resort of Forte dei Marmi nearby.
Skiing
Choice of local ski areas within 40 mins by car. Nearby Cerretto provide all levels of skiing and hire equipment, with 8 runs and cross country skiing.
Special interest holidays
If you are looking for somewhere to hide away to concentrate on painting, writing a book or other work, Casa Gisella is the perfect place. Peaceful and relaxing.
Travel
Casa Gisella is 1¼ hour from Pisa, Genoa and Parma airports and 2½ hours drive from Milan or Bologna. Car hire is essential in this area of Italy. It is situated between the mountains and the sea, approx half an hour from beaches and skiing alike.
Distances
Casa Gisella is situated in a small hill top village. It is 2 miles from the nearest village with shops, bars and restaurants and 15 mins by car to the A15 motorway. Other places of interest include: Cinque Terre (35 mins by car or train). Portofino and Italian Riviera (40 mins by car). Pisa (just over 1 hour by car). Florence (1 hour 40 mins by car). Parma (just over 1 hour by car). The amazing beaches of Tuscany around Versilia (40 mins by car).
Further details
As part of your stay we can arrange for you to have a home-made freshly prepared dinner served to you in the house by our friend who owned her own restaurant. 32 euros a head provides 4 courses plus cheese, coffee, water, wine and a limoncino to finish. This can be serverd in the house, or on the terrace and provides a magical evening eating traditional delicious food with none of the effort! We also offer a number of pre-prepared traditional dishes which you can order and heat up yourself. Casa Gisella is also within 10 mins of a number of fantastic restaurants all offering a high standard of cooking at very reasonable prices. Local shops, bank, post office, chemist are 2 miles away or travel a further 7 miles for larger supermarkets. The entire area is fantastic for walking or cycling. The scenery is stunning with mountains, valleys, never ending chestnut forests and scores of medieval villages and castles to explore.
Booking notes
Automatic booking and online credit card payments accepted on property website. Deposit payments are required within 7 days of booking with the remaining payment 4 weeks before the booking commences. £100 breakages deposit taken on final payment and returned within 1 week of end of stay.
