Casa Brindi overlooks the wooded hills of the Magra valley. Bagnone (5 min drive) is an unspoilt Lunigiana town, offering a taste of real Italy in its cobbled streets, medieval stone buildings, restaurants and bars, family run shops and the local weekly market. Within 40km of the house you can be either on the coast in the picturesque resort of Lerici or climbing dramatic mountain passes through the rocky peaks of the Appenines and the Apuane Alps. Catch a train at the local station and within 1 hour you are travelling beside one of the most dramatic and unspoilt coastlines in Italy, the world heritage site of Le Cinque Terre. The house is just over one hour from Pisa or Genoa airports, 20 minutes from the A15 Parma - La Spezia autostrada. There are many local walks and for the more adventurous the Apuane Alps national park offers serious hiking and horse riding. The coast has numerous golden sandy beaches and boat trips to Portofino, the Ligurian Coast and many other locations.

Bedlinen and towels are included. The house is cleaned and linen and towels are laundered weekly (or between guests). |
Notes on accommodation
The house has stone staircases and is on three floors. Although it is modern, recently converted, light, airy and well appointed, it is unlikely to be suitable for very small children. No smoking.

Accessibility
Handrails have been fitted to the main staircase but not on the three steps down the lower ground floor.
Outside
There is a covered terrace with patio table and chairs. On street parking is immediately outside the house.
Coast/Beach
40kms from the resorts of Lerici and Marina di Carrara, with wide golden sandy beaches. The coast beyond La Spezia is known as the Poets Coast and has dramatic cliffs and pretty villages accessible by car, train or boat.
Skiing
3 medium sized Italian resorts can be reached in 45 minutes from the house. Cerretto Larghi, Zum Zeri and Proto Spilla. All are suitable for families, although they are not large and there is no English speaking tuition. See their own web sites for further details.
Travel
Pisa and Genoa airports are just over 1 hour away. Use of a car is essential. There are trains from Villafranca (10 mins by car) to local and national destinations (Florence 3 hours by train).
Distances
Bagnone 5 mins by car, 15 mins walking. Villafranca 10 mins by car. Apuane Alps 45 mins by car. Also within 30-45 mins are Fosdinovo, Sarzana and Pontremoli.
Further details
Bagnone has shops, restaurants, bars, banks and post office. Larger supermarkets are in Villafranca and Aulla (20 mins by car). Municipal swimming pool in Villafranca.

Please ring or email owner to enquire. £50 deposit required by cleared cheque to hold booking, with the balance due as a cheque two weeks before your stay.
