Santa Margherita Ligure (3km away) and is a pretty little town with all kinds of shops and facilities (hospital, train station, pharmacy, restaurants) and is linked to Portofino by bus.

Notes on accommodation
The flat is very fresh, it doesn't need air conditioning.
Underneath the flat there is a boathouse where during the summer is possible to rent kajaks, windsurfs and small sailing boats.
A car space for 1 car (not a van) is provided.
Accessibility
There is no facilities for people with mobility problems.
Outside
The outside is the public beach. The property is in a natural protected area, this is the reason way you can swim safely in Paraggi bay where the motorboats are not allowed. If you like trekking, directly from the apartment you can start beautiful trip with stunning landscape. Portofino village has very good restaurants and the most important Italian "griffe boutiques".

For sea lovers, beside swimming there is diving (in S.Margherita). In the boat warehouse underneath the flat you can hire small boats (Laser), windsurfs and canoes and a trainer for windsurf lessons.

By plane: Airports are Genova, Pisa, Milano (Linate, Malpensa) Bergamo (Orio al Serio), Nizza.
By train: Santa Margherita Ligure – Portofino can be reached from Milan (2.5 hours), Genova (45 minutes), Pisa (2 hours).
By car: through A12 highway (Genova - Livorno) Rapallo exit (20km from Genova). From Rapallo follow directions to Santa Margherita Ligure/Portofino. Immediately after Paraggi, on the right there is the villa of Niasca with its parking place.

About the owner
My mother's family owns the flat from 1887.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
My grand-grand-father, from Genoa, both the flat with the boathouse for give to his ten sons the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong, swimming, rowing and hiking in stunning landscapes. In the XIX century, Portofino was a little fisherman village, unknown from the newborn tourism. The only other tourists was two English brother and them family, living in the two castle of the area Castello Paraggi, in front of Niasca and castello Brown immediately above Portofino.

Nowadays a natural park and the protected bay of Paraggi bring back to the enchant of those days.
