Palazzo Auris is a superb 18th-century mansion in the heart of Ostuni with the charm of ancient manor houses. It overlooks the central park and it is just minutes on foot from the finest restaurants and shops and from the medieval, whitewashed citadel of Ostuni. The apartment on rent is a large, elegant 200 sq.m flat on the first-floor, classically decorated, accessed through an imposing door which leads to a grand hall and a staircase. It is comfortably furnished with antiques and also boasts a terrace and a large, private garden to the rear. It has 6 large, high-vaulted rooms: Two lounges, dining room, master bedroom with ornate antique wrought iron bedstead and double room with wooden beds, bathroom and laundry room. Large kitchen refurbished with high quality furniture and built-in appliances. The studio, recently renovated, is stylishly furnished and has a fireplace. Wi-fi internet available in the apartment. 15 min drive to 18-hole golf course.

Utilities are included in the weekly price, except for April and November: in these months heating charge is EUR 50 per week.
We accept payments by bank transfer or PayPal. For payment by PayPal, please add 4% of the amount sent to contribute to their handling charges.
10%-discount off the second week for 2-week reservations.
50% down-payment required to confirm reservation, balance to be paid 2 months prior to arrival.

Notes on accommodation
There is continuous hot running water. The property is naturally cool in summer. The large, hanging garden is exclusive to the property as well as the terrace and it is comfortably equipped with garden furniture. Wi-fi internet throughout the apartment.
The Studio flat enjoys a large roof-terrace with a stunning view on the sea and the historic centre.
Accessibility
The main Apartment is on the first floor of one of the most beautiful urban villas (palazzi) in Ostuni. The imposing staircases are very large and easy to be ascended. The garden and the terrace are on the same floor as the apartment.
Outside
Large terrace accessing the charming, private garden. Table and chairs/sun loungers for al fresco breakfasts and evening meals in the summer.
Coast/Beach
10 mins drive from the beach. Great selection of "blue flag" large, sandy beaches or charming, small bay beaches secluded among rocks. 20 mins drive from the WWF -protected beach of Torre Guaceto, which turns into a naturist/nudist beach during off-peak season.
Golf
15 mins drive from the stunning San Domenico 18-hole golf course overlooking the Adriatic Sea, very easily reachable from our location (about 20 min drive).
Special interest holidays
We can arrange sailing, horse-riding, and biking tours on request at minimal prices. Cookery class available on booking a 'chef dinner' at Villa Auris: book a 'chef dinner' and a talented Ostunese chef will come to prepare a Pugliese 5-course dinner and teach you the Pugliese cuisine at your place. Travel
Bari Int'l Airport - 55 minutes drive.
Brindisi Int'l Airport - 25 minutes drive.
Car hire is not necessary (but is useful if you want to tour the local area) and we can organise taxi collection/drop off, if requested. Local bus services offer transport to neighbouring towns. Local train station is a bus ride away.

San Domenico 18-hole Golf Course on the Adriatic - 15 minutes drive. Cisternino - 15 minutes drive. Martina Franca - 25 minutes drive. Taranto - 50 minutes drive. Trani - 1 hour, 30 minutes drive. Lecce - 1 hour drive. Otranto - 1 hour, 20 min drive.
Further details
Loads of entertainment, restaurants and cafes in the old town. Shops open until the early hours of the morning in summer. Good selection of shops in the new town. Huge market on Saturdays. Antiques market on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
Restaurants range from rustic simplicity to the very stylish in stunning settings. A very good range of shops (butcher, fishmonger, grocer, cheese and salumeria) are all located near to the property. There is a weekly market in Ostuni every Saturday. Ostuni also has many festivals to enjoy: July - La Festa del "Barco" - folk dancing/local gastronomy, July-August - Cultural/Musical events, 15 August - In the streets of the Centro Storico an event to celebrate past times: food, costumes, etc. 25/26/27 August: Festival dedicated to St Oronzo, dating from 1793, processions on horseback, fireworks, etc.

Villa Auris has been within the same family since its building, more than 200 years ago. We are proud of it and like to share this fabulous palazzo with discerning travellers and people who enjoy beauty and refinement.
We live in Milan, Italy but spend as much time as possible in Ostuni, Puglia, because of its warm weather, beautiful beaches and good food!

Villa Auris is certainly one of the most beautiful examples of Neoclassical and New Palladian style in Puglia and it is one of the most prestigious palazzi in Ostuni, long considered a landmark of the 'Ottocentesco' neightbourough of Ostuni. Now we have the pleasure to share our palazzo with our guests from around the world and hope they can taste a bit of Italian style.
Unique benefits of the property
Villa Auris is located in the centre of Ostuni, overlooking the public park, in a quiet still vibrant part of the city. The ancient citadel of Ostuni can be reached on foot in few minutes, and so the many shops and supermarket of the modern Ostuni. A car is not necessary. The large and beautiful apartment on rent boasts also a secret, private garden on the rear, where you can enjoy breakfast or dinners. For those who enjoy a more active holiday, there is nearby a 18-hole San Domenico golf course, a 15 min drive. If you are looking for great food in the comfort of the apartment, we can also organise 'chef dinners' with the local and famous chef Antonello from LaSparacima restaurant. Just ask for information when booking.
