Villa Auris is a 18th-century villa in the heart of Ostuni which has preserved the charm of ancient mansions. It overlooks the central park, so-called Villa Comunale in Southern Italy, and it is just minutes on foot from the finest restaurants and shops and from the medieval, whitewashed citadel of Ostuni. The apartment on rent is a large, luxury 250sqm flat on the first-floor of Villa Dorica, classically decorated, accessed through an imposing door which leads to a grand hall and a magnificent staircase. The apartment is very comfortably furnished with antiques and also boasts a terrace and a private garden to the rear. It has 6 large, high-vaulted rooms: Ante-room, large lounge, dining room, large kitchen fully equipped; master bedroom with ornate antique wrought iron bedstead and double room with wooden twin beds, bathroom, laundry room.

Very cozy and typical studio apartment on the second floor of Villa Auris, with a stunning view of Ostuni and the sea from its roof-terrace. This apartment is a prime location for visitors not wishing to hire a car. Recently renovated, it is elegantly furnished with Italian design accessories and can comfortably accommodate 2 persons on a quality sofa-bed. It has a fully fitted kitchen corner with built-in appliances (dishwasher, 4-ring hob, microwave oven, and fridge with freezer). En-suite bathroom tiled with Bisazza glass mosaic, with shower and design basin. The Studio features also an original and typical fireplace opposite the sofa-bed and has central heating and continuous hot running water. Naturally cool in summer, it can be rented throughout the year. Its French windows open onto the large roof terrace with superb views to the sea, the Old Ostuni and the central park. Garden furniture on the roof terrace for al fresco breakfasts and dinners. |

Notes on accommodation
There is continuous hot running water. The property is naturally cool in summer. The large, hanging garden is exclusive to the property as well as the terrace and it is comfortably equipped with garden furniture. The Studio flat enjoys a large roof-terrace with a stunning view on the sea and the historic centre.
Accessibility
The main Apartment is situated at the first floor of one of the most beautiful urban villas (palazzi) in Ostuni. The imposing staircases are very large and easy to be ascended. The garden and the terrace are on the same floor as the apartment. The Studio Apartment is on the second-floor of Villa Auris, separated from the Apartment. Both units enjoy total privacy and are absolutely peaceful and quiet.

Large, private terrace accessing the charming, private garden. Table and chairs/sunloungers for alfresco breakfasts and evening meals in the summer.
Coast/Beach
10 mins drive from the beach. Great selection of "blue flag" large, sandy beaches or charming, small bay beaches secluded among rocks. 20 mins drive from the WWF -protected beach of Torre Guaceto, which turns into a naturist/nudist beach during off-peak season.
Golf
15 mins drive from the stunning San Domenico 18-hole golf course overlooking the Adriatic Sea, very easily reachable from our location.

Bari Int'l Airport - 55 minutes drive.
Brindisi Int'l Airport - 25 minutes drive.
Car hire is not necessary (but is useful if you want to tour the local area) and we can organise taxi collection/drop off, if requested. Local bus services offer transport to neighbouring towns. Local train station is a bus ride away.

Loads of entertainment, restaurants and cafes in the old town. Shops open until the early hours of the morning in summer. Good selection of shops in the new town. Huge market on Saturdays. Antiques market on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
Restaurants range from rustic simplicity to the very stylish in stunning settings. A very good range of shops (butcher, fishmonger, grocer, cheese and salumeria) are all located near to the property. There is a weekly market in Ostuni every Saturday. Ostuni also has many festivals to enjoy: July - La Festa del "Barco" - folk dancing/local gastronomy, July-August - Cultural/Musical events, 15 August - In the streets of the Centro Storico an event to celebrate past times: food, costumes, etc. 25/26/27 August: Festival dedicated to St Oronzo, dating from 1793, processions on horseback, fireworks, etc.
