Castellare is a farmhouse in the high hills (470 meters) near Florence, surrounded by woods, meadows, olive plantations and scattered vines. It is a magical place, timeless and away from the world. It is a natural environment, intact and unspoilt. The buildings are medieval and made of stone, and it is said that a small community of nuns once lived here. Castellare has been recently renovated into four charming accommodations. A swimming pool is at guests disposal in the main lawn.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week in Euros.
We ask for an extra charge for the 5th and 6th person in the Stalla, of €70 a week; the same is for the extra person staying in a 2 people accommodation.
Please enquire for short or long stays. We are happy to offer personalized discounts in the winter, if possible with our booking planning.
Changeover day
We prefer changeovers on Saturday, but if possible with our booking schedule we are very flexible. Arrivals are preferred in the afternoon or evening.
Stalla (2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4/6)

The Stalla is a house on two levels.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with nice furniture, carpets and artwork; a bathroom with a shower is also upstairs.
Downstairs a wide open space with a fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) and a cozy livingroom with a fireplace (there also is a sofa bed for two). The floors are original, made of stone and "cotto". Cable tv, hi-fi and wshing machine complete the equipment.

Stalletta (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2/3)
|
The Stalletta is a small accommodation with a living room with a kitchenette and a fireplace, a double bedroom and a bathroom with a tub.
The living room is very cozy, also because the kitchenette has been made on size in a wooden closet, that closed is a pleasant part of the furnishing and completely hides the cooking area.
There are ancient pieces of furniture, and pretty details. Cable tv, hi-fi, and washing machine are part of the equipment.

Loggia (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2/4)
|
The Loggia is a home with an independent kitchen with a lovely view, a living room with a fireplace, a bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom on a loft.
The floor in the living room is made of ancient stone, the furniture is cozy and comfortable, with antique pieces and nice artwork. There's a sofa bed for two people, if needed.
The bedroom is under the roof, with woodden beams, typical of tuscan country houses.
There are cable tv, hi-fi and washing machine as part of the equipment.

Capanna (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2/3)
|
The Capanna is a small independent house, made of stone, that has stone walls on the inside too, where it was possible to preserve them.
The atmosphere here is romantic and warm.
There's a double bedroom, a living room with a kitchenette, a fireplace and a sofabed for one person.
The bathroom decorated with small green tiles and stone, has a shower.
There's cable tv, hi-fi and washing machine.

Notes on accommodation
Heating expenses in the winter are calculated on use.
The prices indicated include linen and towels.
It is certainly suitable for children.
Outside
There's a private part of garden in front of every accommodation, with garden furniture to eat outside. A barbeque and the use of mountain bikes is offered to our guests on request. The swimming pool is in the main lawn, in a very pretty spot, with a wooden deck. It is shared by the guests of our four accommodations.
Golf
There are two golf courses, both about 20-30 minutes away in opposite directions.
Travel
The nearest airport in the one of Florence, which is about 25 km away. It is also quite easy to arrive from Pisa as well, wich is about 100 km away. A car is essential.
Distances
The nearest small village, where you can find a small grocery store and a restaurant is 1.5 km away, and is called Doccia. The nearest bigger villages are about 5 km away, their names Molino del Piano and S.Brigida, and in them is is possible to find all basic needs, included hairdresser and banks.
Further details
Castellare is located just 20 km away from Florence, and is in very easy reach of all the most important cities of Tuscany. There is also a small train station nearby, about 6 km, that effects a kind of commuter service in Florence, so you can avoid parking problems in town, and be in the heart of Florence in 15 minutes.

We ask for a 50% deposit at the moment of reservation, and the remaining to be paid at arrival.
